The holidays are right around the corner, and there are so many ways to celebrate the season. With that being said, many will be gathering together to celebrate. A fun way to bring more joy to the holidays season is to have a theme for your parties or get-togethers. This is a tradition my family has done for years and we all love it! This will for sure create some smiles and wonderful memories. There are so many different themes that can be used; here are some of my favorites Christmas Party theme ideas listed below:
Christmas Pajama Party:
Many holiday events can be very formal. This is a fun way to take a break from the glitz and glamor. Have your family and friends get together in their cheesiest holiday pajamas. You can even have an additional theme where you choose Christmas movie pajamas or plaid pajamas, for example.
Christmas Costume Party:
Last year our family theme was this! We each picked a Christmas movie theme and dressed up as that movie. My husband and I did Buddy the Elf and Jovie. Some other ideas are the Grinch and Whos, The bunny from a Christmas story, Santa and Mrs. Clause, the Griswolds from National Lampoons Christmas, and the Wet Bandits from Home Alone.
This is our theme this year that we have chosen! We always hear about celebrating Christmas in July, just like Hallmark does by showing their holiday movies, so why not reverse it, and have July in Christmas? You can find Christmas Hawaiian shirts on Amazon, featuring Santa surfing and snowmen made of sand to stick to the Christmas vibes.
Crazy Christmas Socks:
Socking around the Christmas tree as I like to call it! This is a fun way to ditch the traditional ugly Christmas sweater party and switch things up! Pick the ugliest, craziest, most Christmassy socks you can find, and rock them for your parties this year.
Crazy Christmas Hats:
Leave that traditional Santa hat at home this year. Many stores put out so many fun and unique hats for the holidays. Five Below sells has out giant tinsel and Pom Pom Christmas trees hats, or you can find a fun elf hat, or even make something like a snowman hat! This is a fun way to let your creativity and artistic skills show!
Ho Ho Ho Down:
Who says Santa hats and cowboy boots don’t match? Add a fun country twist to your Christmas party this year. You can play a variety of country Christmas songs and show up in a Santa hat and your best cowboy or cowgirl outfit.
Worst Present Party:
This theme will certainly for sure make sure you’re not jealous of any gifts! Make your family and friends laugh with a hilariously bad gift exchange. Who can come up with the weirdest gift?
Christmas Around the World:
Feature decorations, foods, and drinks from different countries. You can pPost fun facts about how other cultures celebrate. This is a fun way to enjoy the holidays without having to spend lots on traveling.
Switch up your traditional get togethers this holiday season by adding a fun holiday theme! Whichever theme you choose, make sure to go all in. The more theme-based things you choose, the more memorable your party will be. Happy holidays!
