8 Fun And Tasty Shots You Can Easily Make At Home

Now that it’s been a few months since the pandemic has set in, a lot of alcohol aisles have been really bare. With the delays from COVID shutting some factories temporarily down we’re now seeing the shortage in popular beers, coolers and wines. However, if you’re sick and tired of drinking the same old drinks, Pinterest has a ton of drink options to try that are easy to make!

I’ve used my spare time to experiment with making some new shots myself based on various Pinterest recipes, and here are my favorite selections:

Swedish Fish Shot

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz of blackberry schnapps
  • ½ oz of vodka
  • ½ oz of cranberry juice

Fill a shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add all the ingredients into the shaker and mix well for at least 15 seconds (or longer if you notice it’s just not mixing well). Strain the mixture into a shot glass and drink up!

Scooby Snack Shot

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz melon liqueur
  • ½ oz coconut rum
  • 1 tsp cream
  • 1 tsp pineapple juice
  • Whipped cream

Fill a shaker halfway with ice cubes. Then add the melon liqueur, coconut rum cream and pineapple juice to the shaker and mix. Shake three to four times and pour into shot glass. Finish the drink with whipped cream on top of the glass.

Liquid Reese’s Shot

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur (or Bailey’s)
  • ¾ oz Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey (or any peanut butter flavoured whiskey)

Fill your shaker halfway with ice and add both ingredients to the shaker. Shake three to four times and pour into shot glass. Pound one back!

Liquid 3 Musketeers Shot

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz Tia Maria
  • ½ oz dark Creme de Cacao
  • ½ oz cream

Fill the shaker with ice cubes half way and add all ingredients. Shake your mixture three to four times before pouring into the shot glass.

Hot Tamale

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Fireball
  • 3 oz Ginger Ale
  • Grenadine

Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the Fireball first and add a splash of grenadine before pouring your Ginger Ale to help mix. Stir a tad more before serving and down this light and refreshing drink.

Liquid Twinkie

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Cake Vodka (any brand will do)
  • 1 ½ oz Milk
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 Splash of vanilla extract
  • 2 drops of yellow food colouring
  • Whipped Cream

Add several ice cubes to a shaker, then add the vodka, milk, simple syrup, vanilla extract (just a splash) and food coloring into the shaker. You don’t need a lot of food coloring to get the effect. Shake the mixture well before pouring into your glass and top with whipped cream.

Liquid Whoppers Shot

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz vodka
  • ½ oz Chocolate Syrup
  • ½ oz Ovaltine
  • ½ oz half and half cream

Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes and add all ingredients. Shake well for ten to fifteen seconds before straining into a shot glass or two.

Fireball French Toast

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz Baileys
  • ½ oz Fireball
  • ½ oz Butterscotch Schnapps
  • Cinnamon Sugar

Fill your shaker halfway with ice and add the Baileys, Fireball, and Schnapps. Shake at least three to four times. Rim your glass with cinnamon sugar and pour.

Skinny Girl Porn Star Shot

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot glass Vodka
  • 2-4 squirts Blueberry & Raspberry Flavoured Water Drops (a combo works too)
  • Carbonated Water (or Club Soda)

Fill a glass with one shot of vodka (or two if you want it stronger), then add your carbonated water. Add at least 2-4 squirts of your blueberry and raspberry flavored drops depending on the size of your glass. Mix well and add ice if needed.

Some of these drinks are really simple to make and are a great way to use up random products you’ve had in your cupboards for a while. Others make for a great occasional drink or something to show off your newfound skills to your friends. Either way, they help make drinking fun and it’s a great hobby to learn!
