What I Thought About Taylor Swift At The Grammys As A Swiftie

On February 1, the Grammy Awards were filled with performances, awards, and some pretty big news. In particular, Taylor Swift announced her newest album, “The Tortured Poets Society,” while accepting her first award of the night. The news not only left fans shocked, but other celebrities, too.

Since not all celebrities chose to make this decision, Swift’s received mixed reactions. Some celebs, like Chrissy Teagan, looked genuinely shocked, others seemed defeated, and some almost looked annoyed with the news. The negative reactions bummed me out a little, but I also noticed how Swift reacted to the others’ wins.

Let me just say: It made me proud to be a Swiftie.

Throughout the night, whenever someone won an award, the camera would pan on Taylor Swift after the winner, and she always looked excited. Swift was always one of the first ones to get out of her seat, applauding and congratulating the winner. She even danced and looked to be having the time of her life!

And Swift has done this in the past, too. Last year, Swift stood for her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles, when he made an acceptance speech for his award. For some reason, though, the audience booed instead of sharing Swift’s happiness. But Swift has always been one to cheer others on, something the audience could have learned from.

Swift’s reactions showed us what a good person looks like.

You don’t have to like everyone in the room, but you should show everyone kindness. More than that, you should make everyone feel included. I love that Swift always goes out of her way to do that for others.

That’s what makes the negative reactions Swift got to her announcement even sadder. It truly goes to show that everyone’s cheerleader can also be the loneliest person in the room. While Swift has a lot of people’s love, some people aren’t willing to cheer her on the way she does for others. And that speaks volumes.

Swift’s standing up for others in the competitive music industry speaks highly of her character. It’s no wonder, then, that her fans adore her. Swift is a light in an often dark world – something we could all learn from.
