I have a HUGE sweet tooth. If you asked me my favorite part of a meal, it would probably be dessert. Cookies, ice cream, donuts, even milkshakes are a few of the many ways to my heart. I can’t go a day without thinking about some sweet treat being shoveled into my mouth.
After searching the many wonders of Instagram, I have a composed list of places your sweet tooth will love:
Baked and Wired
Location: Washington, D.C.
Move aside Georgetown Cupcakes, Baked and Wired is here to stay. Located in the heart of Georgetown, Baked and Wired offers an array of baked goods and coffee. Known for their giant “cakecups”, this bakery really knows how to put a twist on your average cupcake. Not only do they prepare these treats from family recipes, but they are made fresh daily and are always creating new recipes. So get ready, get set, and get baked!
Location: New York City
Levain Bakery takes the award for the best cookie out there. With locations in the Upper West Side, Harlem, and the Hampton’s, this bakery handcrafts massive, “melt in your mouth” cookies that are just begging to be eaten. From your typical oatmeal raisin cookie to your dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie, it’s no surprise that the line is out the door.

Have a craving for some seriously off the wall donuts? Look no further than California Donuts! Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s no wonder this place has become popular overnight. These donuts will have you saying “whoa baby” with their unique and continually new creations. You can easily find your average chocolate glazed donut to the specialty donuts like M&M Overload, Maple Bacon Bar, and Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

Sweet Serendipity 3 is your your go to place for all things chocolate. After perusing the menu, one can find intricate frozen drinks like the famous frozen hot chocolate and frozen mochaccino, your typical and outrageous sundaes, and many other sweet treats. Side note: if you have the extra cash to spend, Serendipity 3 offers the Golden Opulence Sundae at $1,000 and is even in the Guinness Book of World Records. Go get chocolate wasted.
Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
If you happen to be in Boston, definitely check out Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe. With over 20 different cupcakes, like the s’mores, chocolate explosion, and even whoopie pie. Not in the mood for cupcakes? Don’t fret! They have an array of homemade ice cream flavors as well as shaved ice and sorbet.
Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe
Location: Key West, Florida
Key lime pie lovers, unite! When you get a chance, take a trip to the to Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe. This place is KNOWN for their amazing key lime pies; they even sell key lime pie on a stick to go! You can get these bad boys covered in dark or white chocolate. Still craving key lime pie, but not in Florida? Kermit’s ships anywhere in the continental US, so happy ordering!
Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts

Take me to Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts in Charleston ASAP. This donut shop serves some really gourmet donuts and will have you wanting more. All donuts are handmade and baked fresh daily using natural ingredients. They make their own glazes and fillings too! Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream
Jeni’s ice cream shop not only has two locations in Ohio, but in Tennessee, Illinois, Georgia, and Missouri. This ice cream place makes rich and creamy ice creams, sorbets, frozen yogurt, and melt in your mouth ice cream sandwiches. You can even get these ice creams to go in tub or order online!

In the mood for frozen custard? Ted Drewes has served up homemade custard for over 80 years! Not only do they offer custards, but concretes, shakes, floats, sundaes, malts, and ice cream soda’s. Some of their concrete creations include Lemon Crumb, Twisted Caramel, and Cookie Sandwich.
Finding some of the best dessert spots in the U.S. has seriously got me thinking I should plan a road trip soon to visit all 10 of them. TTYL friends, I’m planning my trip now!
