6 Ribbon Hairstyles You Should Try Out

Tired of elastics and scrunchies? Try out the ribbon! You can find them anywhere, from the local dollar store to an accessory boutique. They also come in multiple shapes, colors, and sizes. Plus, you have so much creative freedom with ribbons; you can twist them any way you want.

Looking for some new hair inspiration? Check out these six ribbon hairstyles:

1. Baby bowtie

This simple hairstyle gives you a cute look. First, section three parts of your hair – two parts at the front, and a large part in the middle. Take the two small strands and tie them together at the back, creating a half-up. Then, add the ribbon to tie the two strands together, and wrap it into a bow at the back.

2. Loose ponytail

The loose ponytail hairstyle works perfectly for those in a hurry. But if you love sleek ponytails, don’t sweat; just add a ribbon to the loose ponytail. You can tie it around the root of the ponytail however you like.

3. Mid-length messy bun

Messy buns are a go-to nowadays. And if you want to wear one every day, we have a hack for you: as soon as you finish tying up your bun, wrap the ribbon and tie it at the bottom.

4. Ribbon braids

Once upon a time, the ribbon braid was all over social media. You’d see it in K-pop music videos, too. It looks challenging at first, but if you have a ribbon, you can recreate the hairstyle easily. Start by creating a half-up and tying the ribbon around the elastic. Then, part your hair into three strands, with the strand from the half-up being one strand. Continue to braid until you reach the bottom of your hair.

5. Ribbon at the bottom of the braid

As an alternative to the ribbon braid, you can apply a ribbon at the bottom of the braid. To do this, braid your hair and tie the end with one of your favorite ribbons. Thicker ribbons tend to work well with this hairstyle.

6. Braided strands into a ponytail

This hairstyle definitely gives Disney princess vibes. You may find it harder to recreate than the previous hairstyles mentioned. But if you can pull it off, it will give you a fabulous look! To start, you need to section your hair in the middle and grab a strand on both sections. Then, start braiding your hair according to each section. In the middle, tie the ribbon around your hair to create a ponytail.

Before the summer season ends, purchase some ribbons and give these six hairstyles a try. Most of them are easy and only take a few minutes. They’re also very popular these days.

In the end, you never know which one you’ll like, so give them all a go. If you find one you like the most, let us know in the comments!
