7 Winter Wardrobe Essentials Every Woman Needs In Her Closet

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: fashion trends are fleeting. I’m sorry but I’m supposed to believe that dad sneakers have solidified their place in my closet as mainstays? I refuse. In fact, I’m throwing them out the second I wear them three more times. Give or take.

Fortunately- some trends have stood the test of time and we refer to those as staples and classics. Here is a list of staples to invest in. Plus, we always need a good excuse to go shopping. Happy spending!

1. The wool trench coat

A  real no brainer. First of all, a well-fitted trench coat commands the room. It signifies brains, beauty, and zero BS. What more could you ask for? You can always count on this piece. She’s a real one.

2. Cream on cream on cream

This aesthetic is nothing short of a Christmas miracle. Let me preface this by saying this all-Ivory-everything trend was previously exclusive to summer. Why no white after labor day? It’s illogical. The winter holiday is home of the eggnog color palette. Start this look with a cream knit sweater and with a matching silk skirt or skinny jeans. Next, top it with a wool coat of the same color palette. The shoes actually allow for versatility, so if chestnut or onyx boots are in your closet–go off.

3. Combat boots

We love a platform detail–nothing extreme, but just a whiff of height. Who isn’t reaching for longer legs? This boot is wildly versatile. Wear them with a flowy satin skirt, a plaid mini with tights, or black leggings with a puffer jacket for that ultimate boss babe aesthetic. Always iconic.

4. Patent leather leggings

This speaks volumes, does it not? It takes the standard legging and gives it a sophisticated look.   Pair them with a bodysuit for a sultry vibe or a t-shirt for a more chill look. Jump on this bandwagon. It’s a vibe and your crush is going to notice.

5. The blazer dress

A forever staple that screams classy, elegant, and regal. You can purchase as is or” Martha-Stewart-up’ and grab your favorite oversized blazer at home to craft this piece. Simply cinch the middle with either a thick or thin belt and viola! The traditional blazer is transformed into a stylish office outfit or chic dinner look. Pair with heels, boots, loafers, or even ballet flats. Standing-O all around.

6. Black leather jacket

A girl’s best friend. It’s effortless, versatile, and always helps you look your best. Whether you pair it with a stunning cocktail dress, a cute top and skinny jeans, or use it to polish up your cozy hoodie and leggings look, the result is always the same: a woman who knows what she wants and where she’s going. 7. Satin slip midi

Trends like this one allows you to be both stylish and comfortable–not always the case when it comes to fashion. And while we’re here, the chunky, cozy knit sweater is really everything I live for. Pair this ensemble with a leather boot, a mid-rise office heel, or girl-next door sneakers, and then take a bow queen because this is a 10/10.
