10 Environmentally Friendly Kitchen Products You Absolutely Need

Our environment is noticeably in danger. People who don’t acknowledge global warming and climate change are delirious and need to educate themselves. With the urge to change our ways in order to preserve the environment, there are a lot of products we can use in our day to day lives to make a difference. The best part is that they can all be used in the kitchen!

Mesh Market Bags/Reusable Shopping Bags

They’re compact, can carry a lot of weight, and can obviously be reused over and over again so you don’t have to buy plastic bags at stores and throw them out. Plastic bags are a leading cause in the decline of our environment for a number of reasons. So, by using the ones you can reuse over and over again can eliminate that risk.

Reusable Containers

Food containers are a must-have for obvious reasons, mainly because it keeps you organized. But these are extremely environmentally friendly, and friendly for your wallet as well.

Stainless Water Bottle

Not only are they on trend, but they’re eco-friendly. It prevents the usage of plastic water bottles and encourages us to drink more water. These bottles are super clean and reusable. Plus, they keep drinks hot or cold for hours!

Reusable Coffee Filters

Having coffee is a given. If you prefer to blend your own brew, having reusable coffee filters is an excellent way to protect the environment. It’s also a better alternative to buying coffee every day in a plastic or paper cup that isn’t recyclable.

Cotton Produce Bags

These bags are great for storing produce at home, such as potatoes and onions. Additionally, you can use them when you buy fresh produce as well.

Metal Lunch Box

Metal lunch boxes are heaven-sent. They last forever, keep your food hot or cold and save the environment by reducing the need to buy food or other packaging that are harmful to the environment.

Reusable Coffee Cups

A lot of well-known coffee stores like Starbucks or Tim Hortons and even local hot spots are allowing guests to provide their own travel mugs and filling them. They even offer discounts for using your own cup! Plus, it minimizes waste and the creation of the hazardous cups they use.

Glass Jars

They never go bad so you never need to throw them out unless they break. Glass is 100% safe for our environment and it keeps your products fresh. It can also act as simple and minimal storage decorations.

Metal Straws

Metal straws may be a tad pricey online, but they are the best solution for preventing plastic straws from damaging our wildlife. Plus, they are super easy to clean and are on trend right now. So, stock up on a few and keep one in your bag when you’re out in public.

Reusable Snack Bags

I bought a few reusable Ziploc bags from a grocery store for me to use for my lunches or snacks while at work or travelling. Not only do they keep the products safe, but they also can be reused at least five times to help prevent you from buying more.

It’s not hard to make a few simple changes to our kitchens that will make a difference for our environment. Even things like only using your dishwasher on limited days of the week or using environmentally friendly garbage bags can make a difference. The point is, we need to start implementing small changes to our habits and encourage others to do the same. We only have one planet, and we need to do whatever we can to make a change.
