Ayissha Morgan’s Video To Expose Catfish’s Nev Schulman Is Extremely Shady

Today, I want to talk about a very touching subject that is currently trending. MTV host Nev Schulman’s suspension from Catfish after a former guest on the show accused Nev and the producers of the show of inappropriate sexual advances. I actually saw the YouTube video before it went viral and let me just tell you, from the very second I saw the video, I felt as if it was very in genuine and Ayissha very much just seemed shady. I’m not just saying that, because I’m a huge fan of Catfish and I admire the awareness that Nev Schulman brought to the society and the online community.

For one thing, from the second she describes her story on the sexual advances it seems like to me she had plenty opportunity to stop production and say that she was not comfortable filming anymore. I would know this because I was going to be on Catfish but didn’t feel comfortable with being on the show and I was not allowed to not follow through with the show. This is why I have an idea of what the process is like.

But she didn’t, she just went right along with filming. I don’t know why but I’m thinking that she played along with it because she wanted to meet her online love. However, through the way she went about spreading awareness about her story is wrong in my opinion.

It was towards the end of her first video, she goes on to ask for help to reach 500 likes for part two. When I saw that at the end of the video I was disgusted because anybody that genuinely wants to spread awareness about something that has honestly happened to them wouldn’t do it because they want a certain amount of likes or better yet attention.

They would want to share their story with an intent that they can inspire and educate others and make a difference in the long run, and they wouldn’t care about 500 likes or 200 likes, or 100 likes. The number wouldn’t matter to you, for example, I’m an author and advocate for Cerebral Palsy, and I won’t care about the numbers as long as I can inspire one person, that’s good enough for me.

I’m sorry if this offends anyone but the way this woman went about the whole thing, was way off the mark and well I have no words to describe it. It doesn’t feel right to me how she was telling the story and how she seemed to be very proud about it all.

When it shouldn’t be about that, it should be about helping others and bringing awareness to others. So that’s what got me to have this lousy taste in my mouth-the fact she doesn’t care about the likes altogether.
