I used to wake up every morning with a pit in my stomach. Not because anything catastrophic was happening—but because everything was.
The deadlines. The Slack messages. The back-to-back Zoom meetings with people who thought “circle back” was a personality. I worked in marketing, and from the outside, I had what many would call a “dream job.” I was good at it. I got praise for it. But somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling anything about it.
I was burned out. Not the “I just need a weekend away” kind. The kind where you cry in the shower every morning and feel a quiet sense of dread when your laptop chimes to life.
So, I did what many Millennials do when our mental health hits rock bottom—I started walking dogs.
A Job With No Meetings, Just Wagging Tails
At first, it was just a side hustle. A little extra cash, a little fresh air, and, honestly, a way to avoid staring at a screen for eight hours straight. I signed up for an app, took on a few clients, and spent my lunch breaks with mutts named Boomer and Tofu instead of spreadsheets and brand decks.
And it felt so good.
There’s something meditative about walking a dog. They don’t care about your performance review or inbox count. They just want to sniff stuff and feel the wind in their fur. In a world that glorifies productivity and burnout, dogs remind you to slow down. To be present. To look around.
Soon, I realized I wasn’t just walking dogs. I was walking away from the version of myself that believed burnout was just the price of ambition.
My Nervous System Deserved a Break
Spending time with animals gave me something that no job title or promotion ever had: peace. I began sleeping better. I wasn’t checking my phone every 10 minutes. Even my anxiety, which used to spike anytime I saw a calendar invite, started to ease.
I didn’t quit my job right away, but I shifted my priorities. I set boundaries. I started saying “no” to things that drained me. And when an opportunity came up to go part-time and take on more dog clients, I said yes without hesitation.
When It Becomes More Than a Side Hustle
Eventually, I realized I needed to take this more seriously, not just for the money, but to protect myself. That meant registering as an LLC, tracking my income, and getting insurance for your dog walking business so that I was covered in case anything went wrong. (Because while dogs are cute, accidents can happen—and I wasn’t about to let one off-leash moment derail everything I’d built.)
Once I started treating it like a business, I felt even more empowered. I wasn’t “just a dog walker.” I was an entrepreneur, a mental health survivor, and a woman who chose healing over hustle.
It’s Not Just About the Dogs
The truth is, walking dogs didn’t magically fix my life. But it gave me a reason to go outside. It gave me quiet moments in the middle of loud weeks. And most importantly, it reminded me that I don’t need to be exhausted to be valuable.
If you’re stuck in burnout, I’m not saying you have to quit your job and start walking golden retrievers around your neighborhood. But I am saying you deserve peace. You deserve joy. And sometimes, the smallest shifts—like trading a meeting for a walk—can spark the biggest transformations.

O recurso de respins aleatórios me manteve engajado. A experiência completa está disponível em fortune tiger pin up. Em Brasil, é sempre bom encontrar entretenimento de qualidade.
