If there’s one trendsetter who always has a well put-together outfit, it’s the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Whether she was playing Rachel Zane on Suits or attending a high-end gala at Buckingham Palace, she always has a great sense of style.
Since news broke of she and Prince Harry stepping down as “senior royals,” it was assumed by all that she would come back to her casual fashion sense. Even as a royal, she’s always been seen wearing an achievable look. However, now we’ll have more day-to-day looks to copy! And now that she’s officially becoming a part-time Canadian resident again, we can all look forward to her fabulous winter style for our inspiration.
Here are 4 ways to get Meghan’s effortless winter style right for yourself:
A casual indoor look
You can already see by wearing a sweater and jeans how comfortable she is in her own body. To achieve this look which Meghan rocked while visiting Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, all you need is a thin sweater, a great pair of jeans, and riding boots. Super simple, and can be worn almost anywhere and look great. And as noted by the sartorial surveillant Instagram account, What Meghan Wore, the outfit was actually from her former Suits wardrobe! This only solidifies that you never know when your old pieces can be useful again.
Baby, it’s cold outside
Sometimes it’s hard to find a fashionable winter coat that will keep you warm during the cooler months. But this leisure-driven khaki coat is totally on-trend with 2020 style. She paired it with black yoga leggings and casual riding boots (that are also safe for the slippery roads) to complete it. Which means that we, too, can look this good in our leggings when running an errand…
Chic and cozy
Meghan combined three major winter trends with this look that is super attainable for anyone. Camel-colored coats are totally on-trend right now and are usually made with warmer fabrics (like a peacoat). Then, underneath she paired it with a darker brown turtleneck, which is really popular this season. She finalized the look with a longer satin skirt — again, majorly on-trend. She’s stylish – all while not freezing her butt off.
Meghan has also been known for accessorizing for the cold, as you can see above in past winter looks. Whether it’s a beanie, an oversized scarf, a pair of sunglasses, or even knitted mittens, she’s worn it all to stay stylish and warm. Clearly, she’s a pro at being practical and stylish in the freezing temperatures.
Dressing cute for winter is really hard, but this mother of one has always nailed it from the moment she moved to Toronto to start filming Suits. As you can see, upon her arrival back in Canada, she’s clearly unphased by the controversy surrounding her family. Instead, she’s in her element doing projects she’s passionate about again. Her fashion reflects that of a total snow bunny, and I can’t wait to see her refurbished.
