The Internet Is Having A Heyday With This ‘Area 51’ Mess

Houston, we may have a problem.

Indeed, almost 1.5 million people have signed up to storm Area 51 on September 20. In addition, 1.1 million are “interested” in attending.

In a Facebook event titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of US,” the creators say: “We will all meet up at the Area 51 ALien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.” (In case you aren’t sure, a Naruto run refers to a Japenese comic character known for his speed.)

Even if the conspiracy theories are true and the air force facility in Nevada is keeping extraterrestrial technology and/or life, it can’t be more odd than the hundreds of thousands of people who think they can take on well-guarded Area 51.

Even though the creator of the event posted on the Facebook event saying “Hello US government, this is a joke, I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan,” the internet exploded with memes, jokes and obsession over the storm.

In addition to common people, Miley Cryus is having a heyday with the Area 51 jokes.

Gotta get them up to speed with the times, because there’s no way they have access to Instagram in the super top-secret government facility.

Yes, Fergie has been ready to storm Area 51 for a while.

Also, training is a must. It’s obviously going to be hard to get around those highly-trained miliatry personnel.

… No words.

It’s 2019, so they must know how to do the works.

Leaving in style!

TRUTH! We really don’t know what’s in there.

Again… we really don’t know what’s in Area 51.

Accurate.

Maybe this is why we shouldn’t keep aliens as pets.

No matter what, it’s going to be hard to explain.

RIP

Lil Nas X even released an Area 51-themed version of “Old Town Road” in honor of the raid. A GoFundMe page was started to pay the rapper to perform during the supposed raid. Lil Nas X then replied to a fan on Twitter saying he’d perform there for free.

The U.S. Air Force, however, was less than amused with the storm. A spokeswoman told the New York Times “any attempt to illegally access military installations or military training areas is dangerous.” “No trespassing” signs near Area 51 repordtly say that the use of “deadly force” against intruders is OK.

Area 51 is located near Groom-Lake, Nevada. The operations conducted by the Air Force are highly classified. It has been linked to alien conspiracy theories since the testing of a spy plane in 1955. This was the first time the Central Intelligence Agency first shed light on the military facility.
