Why You Should Take Advantage Of Every Friday Night In College

When going off to college, we all have dreams and expectation of what it’s going to be like. We are eager to start all the lectures, make new friends and have the time of our life. However, more often than not, we forget that college life is more than good grades and being a professor’s pupil.

College years should be the highlight of your life.

You have limited responsibilities, lots of free time, and a mind that devours knowledge. Therefore, you should use every minute you have to make the best memories during that time. You will never have the opportunities you have now again. After college, life hits hard: work, bills, barely any free time and trying to fit a relationship into all of that. If you don’t start living your life right now, you’ll regret it years later after a long day of work.

No matter how in love with your major you are, you should go out on Friday nights. You’ll meet new people, create memories and build a life that you’ll be able to share with others. If typical partying is not your cup of tea, try going to karaoke. Or simply go to the movies or take a walk. The point is that you will never have so much free time again, so you might as well make use of it. It’s also been proven that taking breaks and time for yourself to relax improves your cognitive skills, so there’s simply no reason to say no to a night out!

It’s so easy to get back to your apartment and bury yourself in four walls with a book or a movie. There’s no reason you should stop doing that, but make sure to keep a healthy balance. Being young should mean exciting night trips with your friends, making questionable choices and spending all your money on unnecessary things. If you don’t do these things while you’re young,  you might find that you have regrets as well as tendencies to party too much once you’re older.

In our early 20s, we have an abundance of energy and a will to explore the world.

While going out on a Friday night doesn’t mean you’re going to invent something or contribute to the world peace, it’s still one of the most important and educational things you can do in college. This time is for experiencing, loving, creating, and dancing all night. It’s about making the most out of your limited time. It’s about having stories to tell about your crazy escapades with friends to your kids, and then grandchildren.

Not everyone likes to go out, drink and party with strangers. That’s totally understandable. However, considering that plenty of new friendships, experiences and relationships were born during nights out, you might want to give it a shot. Remember to always check out events at your university or college. There might be something for you that fits your style better. Try to go out and explore everything around you and take it in. You’re as young as you’ll ever be at this moment. Life will never be as easy and free as it is now. So you have to use every chance you have to make the most of it. Go out there and explore!
