Everything You Need To Know About ‘The Woman In The Window’ Movie

Looking for the next book to read for your book club? Look no further. The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn will leave you and your friends in shock and awe. If you liked reading Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train, this should be next on your reading list. What’s even better is that it is being released as a major motion picture this fall.

So, what exactly is The Woman in the Window about? The story focuses on Anna, an agoraphobic woman living by herself in New York City. When her new neighbors move in across the street, her curiosity is piqued and she starts spying on them. One night, she witnesses a horrific crime, but due to her mental state, she has a difficult time proving her case. Was it all in her head, or is Anna actually on the brink of something great?

Here’s everything you need to know about the characters and the actors who will play them.

Anna Fox played by Amy Adams

Who would play a better agoraphobic than Amy Adams? Absolutely no one! The starlett recently starred in HBO’s “Sharp Objects”, an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name, which leaves me to believe she will portray a better-than-convincing Anna Fox.

Alistair Russell played by Gary Oldman

The broody and mysterious character that is Alistair Russell, will be portrayed by Gary Oldman. I expect to see him through the eyes of Anna in the film, spying and secretly seeing what her neighbor is up to. The creep factor is bound to be through the roof.

Jane Russell played by Julianne Moore

Oscar winner Julianne Moore is bound to give a stunning performance playing Jane Russell. Arguably the most perplexing character, I am looking forward to watching her interactions with the other characters, particularly Anna.

Ethan Russell played by Fred Hechinger

Relative newcomer Fred Hechinger will be playing Anna’s neighbor, Ethan. The lonely boy next door looks to Anna for advice – it will be interesting to see how the two interact on the big screen!

Ed Fox played by Anthony Mackle

Anna’s estranged husband, Ed Fox, will be portrayed by Anthony Mackie. You might remember him from numerous Marvel blockbusters acting as a superhero. I cannot wait to see how he transforms in this contrasting role.

David played by Wyatt Russell

One of the main reasons I will be first in line at the premiere is to see Wyatt Russell on the big screen. Playing Anna’s tenant, he is bound to make jaws panties drop. You might recognize him from the BEST episode of “Black Mirror.” And if you haven’t seen Black Mirror yet, you clearly need to quit your job and create some more free-time for yourself.

If you haven’t read the book, be sure to pick up a copy before the film is released on October 4th of this year. Keep an eye out for the official trailer, coming soon!
