10 Throwback Songs To Boost Your Workout

Music is the backbone to every good workout. There are days when I misplace my headphones and actually choose not to workout solely because I know without tunes my workout is hopeless. I keep several playlists on my phone so I can rotate through them and never get bored of them. One of the most important playlists to keep you going and motivated is the throwback workout playlist.

Throwback music has a double positive effect. First, it carries the weight of memory within it. We all have experienced that feeling when a song comes on and you immediately react either positively or negatively because it triggers a memory of a person or a place. These memories are ideal when working out because they create a distraction for you and help you pass the time away focused on a memory and not your exhaustion. Secondly, there’s a pretty high chance that you know most – if not all – of the words to these songs. So sing along! The more fun your workout is, the better.

Here are 10 songs I love to listen to when I’m in the mood to throw it back and need some workout motivation:

  1. “There She Goes” – Taio Cruz Ft. Pitbull
  2. “Work B*tch” – Britney Spears
  3. “Stronger” – Kanye West
  4. “Bounce” – Timbaland
  5. “Show Me The Money” – Petey Pablo
  6. “Fighter” – Christina Aguilera
  7. “Greenlight” – Pitbull Ft. Flo Rida, etc.
  8. “Caribou Lou” – Tech N9ne
  9. “Fastlane” – Bad Meets Evil
  10. “Night Of Your Life” – David Guetta

Motivation is hard to come by, don’t waste it simply because you were ill-prepared. Make this playlist today and get ready for that next wave of motivation. Better yet, make this your source of motivation!

Besides, I don’t believe anyone who says they don’t get a little energized after hearing some Britney Spears. Not to mention Stronger by Kanye West, that song is literally telling you that you need to be a little hotter, better, faster, stronger.

If you’re feeling unmotivated, then don’t forget that sometimes you just need to change it up. Whether that be your workout style or location, or your tunes. This is one solution that you won’t regret. Trust me when I say, these songs will get you up and moving.
