Like many of you, I’m sure, I was over the moon when I heard about the live-action “Tangled” that Disney is considering. “Tangled” holds a special place in my heart. Rapunzel, with her free spirit and long golden locks, is not just a Disney princess to me. She’s my alter ego, the one my friends say I resemble, and I couldn’t be prouder of that comparison.
When I heard about the live-action “Tangled,” I got so excited because my favorite Disney movie was being recreated. But it also made me worried. What if they butcher my favorite movie with the cast they pick?
So, I decided to pick my dream cast for “Tangled.” Check it out below!
1. Flynn Rider/ Eugene Fitzherbert – Ryan Reynolds
Ok, hear me out. The role of Flynn Rider could make or break the movie. We all love and adore Flynn in the original because his character was created and designed by the women who work at Disney. Disney invited all the ladies of the studio to a “Hot Man Meeting,” and they designed Flynn based on books, television, and their preferences, and that’s how we got the Flynn we all love today. That said, I think the ideal person would be Ryan Reynolds. Think about it: Everyone loves him, and he has a great sense of humor. The smolder, I mean, come on.
2. Mother Gothel – Andie MacDowell
When I think of Mother Gothel, I think of her hair, the dark curliness. And honestly, Andie MacDowell would pull her off so well. Susan Sarandon would be excellent as well.
3. Queen Arianna – Mandy Moore
No one can beat Mandy Moore as Rapunzel. She did the role really well and is the reason so many of us adore the movie. I think that it would be great to give her a role as Queen Arianna, as a tribute to the first film, almost as her way of passing down the crown.
4. King Frederic – Zachary Levi
Levi was Flynn Rider in the original film, and I think it would be such an honorable mention if he were to play King Frederic in the remake. Again, this could be a way to pay tribute to the first film!
5. The Stabbington Brothers – Dylan and Cole Sprouse
For this role, you need actors who are actually brothers! Dylan and Cole pull off the perfect comedic timing, which would be perfect for the retelling of the story!
6. Shorty (Cupid) – Danny Devito
I don’t think this needs much explanation. Jack Black would also be amazing!
7. Rapunzel – Blake Lively
If you’re going to have Ryan Reynolds as Flynn, you might as well have Blake as Rapunzel! I genuinely feel that they are real-life Eugene and Rapunzel and would make the perfect stars in the movie. Also, I can totally see Blake with all the flowers in her beautiful blonde hair. It would be magical!
If I had to say this, I think this would be my dream cast for Tangled. I don’t think the remake will ever beat the original version. You can guarantee that I’ll be in the movie theater with flower clips in my hair because I’m so excited about the movie!
