5 Steps To Healing If He’s Already Moved On With Someone Else

You’re probably at home watching The Notebook while sipping a glass of wine and hating the world. You just found out that your recent ex-boyfriend started a brand new relationship right after you broke up. While you sit and cry your eyes out, you wonder how he could possibly move on so quickly.

But, dear girl, know that this has nothing to do with you. In fact, this all just shows how immature and uninvested that jerk really was. He would not have moved on so quickly if he really understood or cared as much as you did, and that’s a fact.

Unfortunately, though, that bit of comfort does little to help you move on. Here are 5 great suggestions that will help you move on from an ex-boyfriend who already is out with someone.

1. Take some time for yourself.

Although it’s tempting to hop on Tinder and start dating again, one of the best things you can do is take some time just for yourself. You need to find yourself and learn how to function on your own again. By spending some serious time with yourself, you’ll come out of this as a stronger woman. So enjoy this moment and stop worrying about the fact that he moved on.

2. Enjoy activities that you could never do with your ex-boyfriend.

You’ll feel so much better when you spend time doing all the activities you couldn’t do with your ex-boyfriend. If he hated when you spent all night at the club, then go live it up! If you couldn’t ever curl up with a good book because he was always around, then start reading. When you start enjoying your favorite activities again, you’ll stop worrying about your ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend.

3. Hang out with your friends.

Quality time with your besties is one of the best ways to move on. Your friends are the best people to be around while you diss your ex. Besides, this breakup is a great time to rebuild your friendships, especially if the relationship caused some distance.

4. Meet new people!

Whether you just use Meetup or casually converse with someone at the coffee shop, meeting new people is a great way to move on after a breakup. New people provide great distraction and lots of conversation. Plus, new people won’t know anything about your history (and they probably don’t care).

5. Travel to new and exciting places.

Traveling is another great way to move on because it distracts and refreshes you. Exploring exciting places will keep you busy and provide a nice change of pace. Plus, you can even fantasize about starting a new life during your vacation.

It may take some time for you to cope with a breakup, especially if he moved on to someone new right away. Try out some of these tips and just enjoy this time of new beginnings. It may seem like your heart will remain broken forever, but eventually you’ll feel ready to move on, too.
