As the class of 2023 prepares to graduate and walk onstage with their diplomas, we can’t help but reminisce about our college days. Sure, there were loads of stress, tears, and sleepless nights, but the number of friends and memories we made seems to compensate for it.
Today, June 6, is National Higher Education day, which aims to address the hardships college students face, and recognize them for their achievements. So without further ado, here are 20 memories we miss from our college days:
1. Sleeping in
8:00 a.m. classes are way too early.
2. Studying with friends
Two brains are better than one.
3. Zoom classes during COVID-19
They were actually way more convenient for some reason.
4. The long Starbucks line
We need our morning coffee, after all.
5. The feeling after submitting an assignment
Finally, got that done and over with.
6. Completing midterm season
Now I need to wait for the results.
7. When the bell curve saved you
Make that 50 a 70.
8. Club meetings
Believe it or not, they weren’t a waste of time after all.
9. Walking to class with friends
They were your talk buddy, honestly.
10. Passing the course you thought you failed
Yay!
11. Entering fourth year
Woohoo! We are almost done with college!
12. Spring break
Time to go home, book an airplane ticket, go to a beach somewhere, and have fun with friends.
13. Homecoming days
No one can ever forget how wild those were.
14. Moving into your college dorm
Those nostalgic memories of meeting your roommate, settling down, and organizing your clothes. Finally adulting.
15. Seeing your parents after a semester
It’s been three months since I was gone.
16. Frosh week or O-week!
So many memories we can never forget.
17. Shopping at night
First time we can do it without our parents’ approval!
18. Reading week
We don’t really have that in the real world, unless we take a vacation.
19. The first internship
Thanks for the first opportunity.
20. Graduating and applying to jobs
Wow, it happened all too soon!
If you graduated from college, let us know which one of these memories you continue to miss. College wasn’t easy, but perhaps it was some of the best years of our lives. For many, it’s the time when we made lifelong friends and socialized before moving into the working world. And if you’re still in college, enjoy the rest of it.
