Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. What’s not to love? Not only is the holiday itself wonderful, but everything around it and leading up to it is amazing. Here are at least five reasons Halloween is a spook-tacular holiday.
1. The weather is awesome.
Of course, the weather depends on where you live. But Halloween is in fall, and fall is usually that beautiful, in-between weather where it’s not too hot or not too cold. You have a break from the burning summer weather, but you’re not freezing cold like you may be in the winter either. It’s paradise!
2. The colors are oh-so bootiful.
The colors of the plants and leaves in the fall are absolutely gorgeous. Reds, yellows, oranges, browns—they all make up that beautiful spectrum of colors we know and love as signaling autumn. And it’s the perfect opportunity to bring these colors into your outfit! What’s not to love?
3. The food is fantastic.
Chocolate and other candies? Yes! Apple cider? Yes! Pumpkin pie? Heck yeah! Food is great all year round, but the special foods people pull out during Halloween are amazing. Apple cider, pumpkin spice, pumpkin-related beverages, and, of course, candy. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take any excuse to splurge on candy during the year.
4. You get to dress up.
We know there’s no rule on what you can and can’t wear. But during the rest of the year, it’s socially acceptable to wear regular clothes to work, or maybe a dressier outfit for a special occasion, but nothing unusual.
But Halloween’s that time of the year when everyone is encouraged to dress up. It’s the time of the year when you’ll see baristas, classmates, and coworkers dressed as witches and ghosts, their favorite superheroes, fairytale characters, and more! Dressing up makes you feel like a kid again, which is another major reason Halloween is one of the best holidays out there.
5. There are fun events.
Since it’s a holiday, people put on all sorts of fun events during Halloween: haunted hayrides, scary movie marathons, and—my personal favorite—Halloween parties! Not only do these get you into the holiday spirit, but they also give you a chance to catch up with friends!
That’s the beauty of holidays in general: time to take off, relax, and catch up with loved ones. Plus, it’s a way to shake up your day and do something fun. Live life to the fullest, am I right?
Halloween is a great time of the year. It’s during an amazing season, your surroundings are gorgeous, you get to eat chocolate and other goods in an inordinate amount, you get to dress up, and you get to go to parties and do other fun things! What’s not to love?
