When it comes to things that are better than sex, you might be asking yourself, “Are there such things?” Could there actually be something greater than one of life’s most primal pleasures? Based on some Reddit (as well as myself), I have come up with a pretty hefty list of life’s wonderful moments that are, indeed, better than sex. Whether you believe it yourself is entirely up to you, though.
*The answers are gathered from Reddit*
1. Laughing so hard you cry.
I can absolutely concur with this statement myself.
2. Getting seeds or kernels out of your teeth that you’ve spent half the day trying to get out.
I mean, this makes sense to me. Who actually likes having seeds or kernels stuck in their teeth? There is nothing like taking out that tiny nuisance and tossing it into the trash can.
3. Cracking your joints and releasing the tension that’s been there for what seems like forever.
Some days, you try to stretch out your aching muscles and bones to no avail, contorting your body in ways you didn’t know possible just to find relief. Suddenly, you bend just the right way, and the sound of shifting joints you hear coming from your back is magical.
4. Body and head scratches and massages.
Have you ever gone to the hairdresser or barber and gotten that shampoo treatment where they massage the holy heck out of your head? That’s a feeling of pure bliss — definitely better than sex.
5. Taking your bra off at the end of the day.
As a woman of the larger-breasted society, I can attest that taking your bra off after a long day at work (or even just around the house because if those boulders aren’t in their holder, you’re S.O.L. for the day) is an absolute godsend.
6. When your nose clears after being stuffed up for days.
Anyone who has been stuffed up due to an illness or those pesky allergies knows this to be true.
7. Laying down on a freshly made bed.
There’s nothing like jumping into a newly made bed. It’s a serene experience for sure.
8. Going to bed knowing you have nothing going on the next day.
I honestly can’t recall when I last went to bed, knowing I didn’t have anything going on the next day. But what I can recall is the feeling of contentment, knowing I could sleep in with no worries.
And here are some of my own answers:
9. That first sip of an ice-cold beer after a long day.
I don’t think I need to explain how feeling the first sip of an ice-cold beer going down your throat feels. It can be summed up in one word: orgasmic.
10. Eating baked goods fresh out of the oven.
The aromas, gooeyness, and euphoria coming from consuming fresh-from-the-oven baked goods give you sensory overload in the most glorious way. My favorite is freshly baked brownies, yum!
11. The feeling of nostalgia brought on by music.
Sometimes when I’m listening to music, I get goosebumps. And a lot of the time, it brings me back to the time I made a specific memory while listening to that same song.
12. Drinking morning coffee in absolute peace and quiet before everyone in the house wakes up.
For those of us with roommates or children, enjoying a moment of solitude while having a cup of java brings immense pleasure. There’s nothing like sipping hot coffee knowing you will, indeed, finish the whole cup while it’s still at the temperature of an inferno.
13. Hearing “I love you” from basically anyone but especially from your children.
This, to me, is the best thing ever. I have two daughters. The oldest is a preschooler, and let me tell you: Every single time she says, “I love you, Mommy,” I feel like my heart leaps out of my chest. Even on the days that she’s driving me batshit crazy, all it takes is for her to mutter those words, and all is right in the world.
There you have it, everyone! A list of 13 things millennials think are better than sex, according to Reddit users (and myself). I’m sure there are a lot of things on this list you may not agree with because, let’s face it: Sex is awesome. And I’m also positive you may be able to add to the list.
Consider this a conversation piece for your next get-together with your friends. I know I will since I found it enlightening and, to be honest, quite hilarious.
