How You Can Spread Holiday Cheer Without Spending A Penny Through St. Judes

Tis the season for family, food and fun! I love finding fun and simple ways to give back especially during the holiday season and recently stumbled upon my favorite way to date through St. Judes.

Sadly, everyone knows at least someone who has experienced cancer. The ongoing epidemic attacks more and more people despite all the research and funding available. Every day, at 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. What’s more, a minimum of 40,000 fight cancer each year.

Inevitably, some kids must spend the holidays in hospital beds while they undergo treatment or are in recovery.

While this is awful, there are always ways you can help. In fact, if you would like to spread some holiday cheer to these children without spending a penny, look no further than St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

For most major holidays, St. Judes has a digital card program where you select the card design and add a message.

To create your own cards, simply visit the St. Judes digital card program website. Once you click “Create A Card,” you’ll find several cute designs to choose from. Each card design is actually created by a child at the hospital.

Once you select your favorite design, you can either write your own message or pick from a variety of pre-written messages in both English and Spanish. Then you enter your name, press send, and you’re done!

The best part? St. Jude’s card program is completely free, and you can send as many cards as you want!

It’s become my favorite way to give back because we often forget about childhood cancer and how underfunded it is. St. Judes is a phenomenal organization that allows children to receive free treatments instead of having parents worry about the financial burden that comes with an unexpected cancer diagnosis. Not only does it raise awareness, but it also encourages happiness for those who cannot be home for Christmas!

If you feel like cards aren’t enough, don’t worry. Dollar General actually partners with St. Judes every year to host Santa’s Workshop, an event where children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, make crafts, and receive a Christmas toy that they pick themselves. St. Judes makes sure that children receive the same excitement as others during the holidays as any other child in the world.

If you’re looking for a way to financially help St. Judes this holiday season, they offer that, too! Through their boxed holiday card sets, you can not only send your loved ones warm greetings but also help St. Judes with their mission. St. Judes also runs an online gift shop, and all of the proceeds from purchases go straight back to helping families and children with cancer.

So, what are you waiting for? Spread some holiday cheer for free to a child with cancer this month. You won’t regret it!
