5 Easy Ways To Unwind & Relax When You’re At Home

It’s 2019 and “self-care” and “self-love” are still trending topics. I think it’s always important to give yourself some TLC. It doesn’t have to be something extravagant or expensive, but there are plenty of ways to give yourself the love and attention you deserve without breaking the bank. Change up your routine and add in some “me” time. I promise you won’t regret it.

Here are 5 simple ways to rejuvenate, revitalize, and give yourself that TLC you’re missing:

1. Face Masks

Who doesn’t love a good face mask? Face masks are still the craze right now. There are so many different kinds, all helping treat different things. You can do them in the morning, in the shower, or before bed. If you’re looking for a fresh way to chill out and give your skin a clean glow, you may want to give a face mask a try.

2.  Hair Masks

When your hair feels good, you feel good. Give your hair some love with a hair mask. A lot of hair masks and hair oils are super simple to use. It’s usually easiest to use them in the shower or apply them before bed. It’s such a refreshing feeling to have clean, happy, and healthy looking hair. Depending on the hair mask, you can apply it on the regular, every other day, or once a week.

3. Morning Pages

Grab a pen and some paper and write your heart out. Morning pages is similar to journaling, except it does have a few rules. You must write in the morning and fill up 3 pages worth of writing, but it can be about anything! Whatever comes to mind, write it down. There is no beginning, middle, or end. Just focus on your thoughts while your pen is on the paper. I’ve found that doing this every morning when you get up can help with a lot of things like stress, anxiety, and writer’s block. It’s a healthy way to release that never-ending stream of conscious in your mind.

4. Take A Nice Bath

Somedays you just need to turn down the lights, light a candle, and soak your worries away. Grab your favorite smelling bath bomb, turn up the music, and enjoy a nice warm bath. Sometimes the simple things can be the most relaxing and enjoyable.

5. Clean Out Your Closet

It’s almost time for some Spring cleaning, but who says you can’t start a little early?  Going through and getting rid of stuff automatically helps put you in a better mood, so, clean out that closet of yours! Get rid of those things you don’t wear anymore and give them a new home. Once you’ve finished your closet clean your car, your room, anything!  Make room for new, better, and fresh, you’ll love the way it makes you feel.

I know sometimes it’s hard to make time for yourself, but there’s no excuse when it can be as quick, simple, and easy as this. Self love isn’t selfish.
