Why Jealousy Is At The Center Of Our Lives

I’m going to let you in on a very important secret, so listen up.

Do you remember going through school and always having that one person who didn’t like you very much or just seemed to always talk about you in a negative way? Then the same thing happened again in high school just drastically increased. Once again in college then finally to where some of you are today, the real life workplace.

It seems to follow you around no matter what you try to do to get rid of it. As a child, well until this year if I’m being completely honest, I used to get very bothered by this. I hated when people intentionally put other people down. I hated the whole fake friendship idea. I hated the two faced people who loved when their life revolved around picking on people. It always made me sick.

I’ve come to terms with why people feel the need to do this. Why they feel the need to put others down for self-enjoyment. It’s jealousy. That is 95% of all cases. People like talking, that’s always been a thing, but here’s the secret to why.

They talk because they like your hair. They criticize the way you run because you’re faster than they are. They don’t like your car because they don’t have one. They don’t like what your career is because they don’t have a degree. They criticize the way you speak because they don’t have enough courage to speak up. They judge your sexuality because they are not completely sure about their own… and the list goes on.

What we have to understand is that these things make us who we are and if people want to talk about us, let them. Let them talk and have their fun because at the end of the day, you’ll be happy and they won’t be. You’ll know who you are and they’re still looking. You’ll know what your life looks like and they’re still growing up.

Life is all about jealousy
. There is jealousy in every aspect of your life; relationships, education, wealth, maturity, and it will always be there for someone to pick up on. It will always be there for someone to talk about. It will always be there for the people who don’t know what else to do.

So for advice… think. Think before you speak and in more ways than one. Think to understand what you are saying. Think to understand how the person you are speaking about will take it. Think about what you would feel like if someone said that to you. Think about what makes you happy. Think about life in general.

Just try to do what makes you happy, what keeps a smile on your face. At the end of the day your smile is the one you want to see, so let that smile shine and show the world the happy side of yourself. The world shines at you and deserves to be shined back at, so shine baby shine!
