Here you are…and when I say you, I mean what literally feels like almost everyone lately. So many people, searching for employment; be it summer jobs, entry level…really anything to get us up off our asses and into a position! Either way, there’s got to be a little fun and a little laughter amid the annoyance, so here are 5 things to do when you’re FUNemployed.
1. Find Your Woes Who Also Don’t Have Jobs
Who really wants to sit at home all day by themselves? Luckily, you’re probably not the only one nearby that is in the field of current unemployment. To make your days a little less boring, you’re going to have to search from some jobless companions to join in on your exciting days. At least this way you may not have a job – but you have a friend!
2. Start Making Drip Coffee
Okay folks, you’re going to have to kiss your trip to Starbucks goodbye for a little while, you can’t afford that! Instead, you’re going to have to wake up and uh oh…make your OWN coffee. I know, how devastating: an open-faced mug, no bossing people around with sugar preferences and the very worst part – the dishes to follow.
3. Be a Source of Support
Although you may not currently have a job, you do not have access to a “get out of jail free card” when you’re feeling a little sad and don’t really want to congratulate your friend on finding that job he or she has been anxiously anticipating. It may absolutely pain you to smile and congratulate your friend on their new position at the bank, but buckle up: you’re going to be hearing a lot about the pay, benefits and experiences; all while having to smile and support them.
4. Become A Really Good Cook
You’re off. There is absolutely no excuse. If you’re living with your parents they’re going to expect you to have some dinner ready and if you live with a friend…well, it’s pretty much implied. It’s time to put aside Corn Pops and Pizza and try something a little more creative. What about making something a bit more extravagant, after all, it’s not like you have anything better to do!
Well…here you are; awaiting a position that will get you out of your slump and land you directly into the DOUGH. However, it just doesn’t seem to work like that does it? You’re so busy focusing on the fact that you DON’T have a job, that there is absolutely no way you’re open enough to getting one. Take a deep breath and understand that the reason it’s taking so long is because something amazing is on its way, just calm down and know that it’s coming.
We all know being without a job is not exactly the most ideal place to be. However, if it’s where you currently reside, there is not much you can do about it except relax while you search. There is just no use in getting yourself all worked up. So go out there, and learn something new while you put the FUN in FUNemployed.
