How To Look Your Best for Your Wedding Day

Every bride wants to look and feel their best on their big day. Your wedding is a moment to celebrate with your partner, family, and friends. Make proactive choices to alleviate pre-wedding stress and be your most vibrant self. Think about the following steps as you get ready to walk down the aisle and dance into your reception.

1. Select Personal Jewelry

Each couple’s ideal engagement rings are the foundation of the perfect wedding jewelry ensemble. You may choose styles like vintage pieces, halo cuts, or solitaire cuts. Talk to your partner about your ring preferences before committing to a gorgeous heirloom ring. Coordinate earrings, necklaces, and bracelets to highlight your ring.

2. Try a Variety of Dress Styles

Each bride has a unique vision for their dream wedding dress. Make a digital mood board with dress pictures or cut out pages from magazines. Keep an eye out for themes such as favorite skirt shapes, materials, necklines, hues, and embellishments. It is normal to visit more than one shop as you search for your best fit.

3. Find Your Perfect Dancing Shoes

Remember to try your wedding shoes before the big day. You may prefer to have separate ceremony and reception shoes. Walk around the house in your shoes and test the comfort level for dancing. Heel height, arch support, and toe box shape can influence long-term comfort.

4. Decide on a Veil or Alternative Headpiece

Some brides choose to wear traditional veils passed down from family members, while others select new pieces. Coordinate the veil length to complement the dress train and your ceremony venue’s scale. A veil is optional. You can substitute it with a headband, tiara, jeweled hair clip, flower crown, or hat. Forgoing hair accessories is also an option.

5. Create a Skincare Routine

Clear and smooth skin does not appear overnight. Future brides should establish a daily skincare routine at least a few months before their big day to achieve optimal results. This routine can include a cleanser, exfoliator, toner, spot treatment, serum, moisturizer, and eye cream. A dermatologist or aesthetician can help you to find the right treatments.

6. Schedule Hairstyle Trials

If you plan to change or touch up your hair color, it is best to do so with time for corrections. Work with a hairstylist to plan your wedding and reception styles. Schedule a couple of hairstyle trial sessions and take notes about your preferences. A stylist can do your hair on the big day or teach you how to do it yourself.

7. Apply Complimentary Makeup

Wedding day makeup is a personal choice, and the right choice is whichever look helps you to feel comfortable in your skin. Brides may plan to wear minimal makeup or lean into artistically bold styles. Consider how the products will hold up over the course of a long day. You may prefer to fully reapply your makeup or do touch-ups before the reception.

8. Wear a Confidence-Boosting Scent

An exceptional perfume can help you to form beautiful sense memories and inspire confidence before you step in front of all your loved ones. Order a collection of samples from your favorite perfumery and apply your selection on the morning of your wedding day. You may reorder the scent to wear on special anniversaries, too.

9. Hydrate and Eat Nutritious Meals

Nourish your body so you feel strong, balanced, and ready to be on your feet. Plan snacks for your wedding day and ask a member of your party to keep track of them. Hydrate with plenty of water in the days before your wedding and ask the snack carrier to have a bottle at the ready.

Let go and enjoy your big day to the fullest. A happy bride is a gorgeous bride.
