4 Necessary Wellness Tips If You’re Still Working From Home

If you’re still working from home during COVID-19, you may find that being away from the office continues to create stress. Therefore, it’s extremely important for work-from-home employees to know how to manage their health and well-being. Here are four wellness tips that every work-from-home employee should know:

1. Take breaks.

If you work alone for long periods of time, then you may find taking regular breaks difficult. While there’s nothing wrong with a strong work ethic, working too many hours at once can negatively affect the quality of your work. Take a few minutes every hour to get up and stretch your legs, and allocate enough time for you to take a few longer breaks as well. Taking breaks can do wonders for your mental and physical wellness.

2. Make sure that you have good insurance.

Working from home may lack traditional “job hazards,” but it’s still important to have a good insurance plan. If you don’t currently have a healthcare plan, then make sure to apply for health insurance as soon as possible. Insurance may seem costly, but it’s vital to your health.

3. Visit your doctor.

Many workers skip appointments with their doctors, but if you work from home, you might have more freedom to schedule regular appointments. No matter how busy you are, always set aside time for regular checkups. Your doctors can use Greiner Bio-One equipment to diagnose and treat many health conditions, which will get you back to work quickly.

4. Connect with your coworkers.

Being a work-from-home employee can sometimes feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to be. If your office hasn’t planned meetups for you and your coworkers to connect remotely, take matters into your own hands. A virtual “team breakfast” or happy hour outside of the regular workday can help you feel close with your coworkers, even if you all live in different areas. You may even make new work buddies to get together with in-person outside of work, which will give you extra motivation to get through each workday.

Being a work-from-home employee comes with extra challenges, but it doesn’t have to be so hard. Once you make sure that your needs are met and take time to get to know your work team, you’ll feel much better about working from the comfort of your own home.
