Calvin Harris Drops ‘My Way’ And Throws Major Shade At T-Swift

Just when you thought he was old news, Calvin Harris has surprised us yet again by dropping his new single in the wee hours of the morning. There was a lot of expectations surrounding a new song, or when he would release something, but I don’t think the public was ready for the shade he was about to throw in his ex girlfriend Taylor Swift’s way.

After the single was released the Scottish producer/DJ spoke to iHeartRadio saying, “[The] song’s kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then, you’re way more comfortable out of it.” He then went onto say, “And it could be anything. It could be a job, or it could be a relationship.”

He claims it was a concept from years ago, but fans and myself included are definitely not buying it. We all know Calvin just beat Taylor to her own game and here are the facts:

  1. He very rarely ever sings on a track. He always chooses to collaborate with an artist. However, this time he did it, literally, his way.
  2. Read some of the lyrics: “Why wait to say, at least I did it my way / Lie awake, two faced” he further sings, “But in my heart I understand / I made my move and it was all about you / Now I feel so far removed.” We’re not going to make any direct assumptions about who these lyrics refer to, but I’m just going to leave these here while I sip my tea.
  3. The timing is kind of ironic considering the great break up between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, or as I like to call the HiddleSplit, happened just a week ago. And just when people forgot about Taylor and Calvin’s break up, he releases the much anticipated song about their own ending.

After all is said and done, the song is very catchy, and I’m sure it will give fuel to Taylor Swift’s song writing fire. But in all seriousness, I can’t wait to see what else is in store from Harris, because I’m sure 2017 will bring us plenty of T-Swift revenge songs.
