First and foremost, let me begin by saying thank you.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for giving me a partner in crime.
Thank you for giving me someone who shows me the meaning of “courage”.
Thank you for giving me someone who will never hold a grudge for more than half an hour (or less, if I make a good joke or give her a cookie as compensation…)
Thank you for giving me a flashlight who will guide me in my darkest times.
Thank you for giving me someone who guided me throughout my awkward stages growing up, and never failed to give me the best possible fashion advice, even when I didn’t think I needed any.
The bond between sisters cannot be put in words for the simple reason that it cannot be described.
You understand each other in ways no one else will, without having to say a single word.
So, to my partner in crime, here are 6 things that I’ve forgotten to thank you for:
1. Thank you for giving me an extra wardrobe
Whether it be a casual night out, a date, or one of those days where you simply can’t decide what to wear from your own messy clothing collection, you know that there is another wardrobe waiting for you.
If you ask first, of course!
2. Thank you for staying in on a Friday night to watch a cheesy love story or Zac Efron movies
Let’s face it, you’re never too old to watch High School Musical.
There’s nothing better than a sister movie marathon while watching “The Bachelor” or anything that features Zac Efron…
3. Thank you for giving me a shoulder to cry on
Throughout every heartbreak, bad fight, or sh*tty day, we know we always have each other. I can count on you to listen to my gibberish (and vice versa) after a long day over the only two men who truly understand women – Ben & Jerry.
4. Thank you for standing by my every decision
No matter how many stupid choices I may have made, (because we’re all human at the end of the day, you know), I knew I count on your wise words of wisdom to shed some light in the darkest times.
Sisters are like eyebrows: there for you in thick and thin.
5. Thank you for one day being my Bridesmaid
On my special day, I know I’ll have you right beside me, to make me laugh while I say the most important words in my life. I know you’ll be there for me, just like I’ll be there for you.
6. Thank you for one day giving me nieces and nephews
Someday, I hope to win the title of “the cool aunt” while I’ll spoil my nieces/nephews with countless of gifts as if they were my own.
And when they misbehave, I can simply give them back..
So, my partner in crime, I can tell you every day how thankful I am to have you in my life, but doubt that a few funny gifs will even come close.
But hey, a girl can try.
Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. But a sister stays with you through everything – they’re your true best friends.
One no one would ever want to mess with, obviously..
