4 Reasons You Should Stay In A Hotel Suite When You Study Abroad

When most students begin exploring the idea of studying abroad, they typically analyze the idea from an academic or experience perspective. They look at course offerings, tourism opportunities, and perspective networking. Accommodations for studying abroad (like an apartment or hotel suite) don’t cross anyone’s mind and end up appearing as an afterthought.

However, everyone still needs a place to live when studying in a different country. One great residence option that students rarely consider during their semester abroad is a hotel suite. Here are four reasons why this is a better option for UK student accommodations than chasing down a flat to rent.

1. A Shorter Commitment

Flexibility is key during college, especially when studying abroad. With a hotel suite, it’s easier to take advantage of flexible options because you’re not stuck with a long-term lease. Hotel suites offer shorter commitment options with renewal possibilities if needed. Therefore, you can jump on new opportunities or broaden your horizons by relocating anytime you like.

2. Better Amenities

Hotel suites typically offer expansive features as standard arrangements whereas apartment complexes charge more for similar amenities. As a result, you’ll receive an array of luxurious features by selecting a hotel suite for your time abroad. You’ll still enjoy a wide variety of television channels, blazing fast internet, and comfortable sleeping quarters. Additionally, though, hotels include comfort features like room service, workout centers, laundry services, and more.

3. Opportunities to Mingle

In a hotel suite, turnover is the norm. Students may be in a group of a few long-term residents, but most of the rest will come and go after a few days. Therefore, any time you spend in the hotel lobby, bar, or corridor becomes an opportunity to meet new, exciting people. These mingling opportunities allow you to experience people from all over the world and immerse yourself if the rich fabric of international travel. This unique opportunity could never happen in an apartment.

4. Facility Upkeep

After a long day in the lab or library, students are always ready to get back to their apartments and… mop the floor? Not a chance. When studying abroad, you should maximize the experiences that put you on that airplane in the first place, not scrub toilets. In a hotel suite, staff members cover all of those unpleasant chores for you, freeing up more time for you to sight see!

Most people never make it oversees for travel, let alone for a full immersion during study abroad. Students should therefore maximize every moment of their time across the pond. Luckily, hotel suites can offer the perfect balance for many. They provide comfortable living conditions without all the fuss of apartment maintenance. This frees you up to truly embrace every minute of your time overseas and experience the best semester ever!
