With societal pressures to have a great life where everything falls into place it’s hard to remember that bad days happen. For some, the biggest problem is which fancy coffee to drink in the morning. And when we do have a bad day, we often don’t know how to handle it.
The truth is, we all have some absolutely terrible days where we wish we could stay at home and avoid the harsh world beating us down outside the safety of our bedrooms. We all grumble, complain, throw child-like tantrums, and wish the day would just end already. No one is safe from those.
Sometimes, we fail to recognize that other people have bad days too, and that we aren’t the only ones who may seem to have a bad life on occasions. At times, they have the stress, hurt and exhaustion written all over their face while others suffer in silence behind a smile. Just because we try to hide it, doesn’t mean it’s not there and debilitating.
We look at our friends who seem to have their lives together and wish we could have that kind of lifestyle too. But the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. We all have reasons to hate life, they just happen at different times and for different reasons.
Plus, what we also don’t remember is that some days we have experiences that can cause us to plummet into a dark hole and want to forget the world. Whereas if it happened on a different day, we might find the strength to overcome it. It all depends on the kind of energy around you, and what you invest within yourself.
Difficulty climbing out of bed can be a common occurrence. Showering or wearing a nice outfit to work may seem like difficult decisions you usually give up on. And canceling plans to give yourself some alone time can seem strange. However, they’re all perfectly normal choices. We all have days like that whether it’s because of mental health battles or a rough day on the job.
If you’re feeling a sense of failure surrounding your bad days, or that it may be contributing to your downward spiral, that’s okay too. We all have days where we don’t feel good enough. Maybe we forgot our healthy lunch at home and settled for comfort food instead. Or failed to meet a deadline at work or school, or even felt like you’re just not good enough for the person you have your heart set on. Failure is totally affiliated with bad days.
Not every day is meant to be a good day, and that’s okay. Nothing in life is meant to be perfect.
And just because you have a bad day does not mean you have a bad life.
We still have so much to be thankful for in this neverending world like our health, family and friends who are with us, the memories of happy times that made us appreciate to be alive and the moral values that are instilled in ours souls. There are so many other blessings in your life; you need to identify and focus on those in your moments of self-doubt.
Life is like a balance beam. Sometimes it’s equal with good and bad parts, and sometimes one side outweighs the other. But we’re always in motion going forwards. However, it’s important to remember that sometimes bad times are supposed to happen. Then, we can get back on track with the good. So don’t beat yourself up over it too much.
