Breaking: Mac Miller’s Cause of Death Has Finally Been Revealed

Two months after Mac Miller’s unexpected passing, the coroners have revealed his cause of death.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner—Coroner announced Monday that the rapper died from mixed drug toxicity. They have cited the cause of death as an accident.

At the time of his death, fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol were in his system, in addition to alcohol.

The coroners performed an autopsy on September 8th, but they deferred the cause of death pending further investigation. They did not determine the specific mixture of substances.

Just last week, Travis Scott, John Mayer, SZA, and more stars gathered at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles to honor Miller with a celebration of life concert.

In addition to hordes of fans, numerous celebrities, from musicians to comedians to actors, spoke about how Miller’s influence. They also shared how they continue to keep his memory alive.

Famously, Miller’s ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, has struggled with his passing, despite their rocky relationship. She has been very vocal about the fact that there were aspects of their relationship that she couldn’t support or fix. In several candid moments, she cited Mac’s drug use as her reason for ending the relationship. In the past few weeks, the pop star posted pictures and videos of the former couple, reflecting on the positive times.

Miller’s death even influenced her decision to break up with her ex-fiance, Pete Davidson, and has caused her to take a mini-break from the spotlight after an emotionally triggering year.

Mac Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, passed away on September 7th, after authorities arrived at his Studio City, California home. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 am.
