Demi Lovato Hospitalized After Suspected Overdose

Demi Lovato has been rushed to an L.A. hospital after suffering what appears to be a heroin overdose law enforcement tells TMZ.

TMZ’s sources say Demi was transported from a home in the Hollywood Hills just before noon (in LA time), and is currently being treated.

While her condition is unknown, speculation is leading to a possible heroin overdose. 

On June 21st she released the song Sober, revealing she had suffered from a relapse of some sort but did not go into specific detail. She had also just celebrated 6 years of sobriety at the age of 25.

It’s been no secret that Demi has fought substance abuse for years, and went into detail in her YouTube documentary Simply Complicated, that premiered last summer. The former Disney actress has always been honest about her battles with depression, bulimia, self-harm, drug abuse and alcoholism in fearless detail. At one point she lived in a sober living home after getting released from a treatment centre.

In a recent update Lovato’s family has released a statement through her rep saying:

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy.”

The family, and sources close to the powerhouse vocalist are claiming the speculation of the overdose being caused my heroin are false.

In new, chilling details that have slowly been released, it has been revealed that paramedics were called to a home in LA to attend to an unresponsive 25 year old female. She was found unconcious was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses, on the ambulance ride. Sources are telling multiple news outlets that the Narcan was the only way she was revived.
