5 Claw Clip Hairstyles That Aren’t Your Typical French Twist

Many people choose to wear claw clips nowadays. They’re very trendy, easy to use, and less damaging to the hair than elastics. You may have seen many people pull off the French twist or a ponytail. But if you’re wondering about other hairstyles to try out with a new claw clip, here are five:

1. Claw Clip Bun

If elastics and hair clips aren’t your friends, try this bun trick with a claw clip. All you need to do is gather your hair in a ponytail, put the claw clip over the root of the hair, and wrap the leftover hair around the clip. Then, you can secure the loose end by putting it in.

2. French Twist With Side Braids

Want to add a little oomph to your morning French twist? Add side braids! Take a small strand of hair on both sides and braid them. When finished, secure the braids with a small black elastic. Then, gather the rest of your unbraided hair and put it in a French twist. To finish off the hairstyle, tuck the braids. You’ll be ready to rock out the door.

3. Claw Clip Ponytail

Other than elastics and scrunchies, you can easily use a claw clip to secure your ponytail. To do this, gather all your hair, twist it, and place the claw clip over the root of the ponytail. Then, just loosen your hair, and you’ll end up with a cute Ariana Grande-like ponytail.

4. Low Bun Claw Clip

If you’re in the mood for a low bun, use your claw clip too. Like the other hairstyles, you’ll have to gather all strands of your hair. However, instead of placing the claw clip over the root of the hair, you’ll now place it an inch or two lower than the root. Then, you can twist your hair around the clip and secure the loose end.

5. Volume Bun

Sometimes, we’re all in the mood for a volume bun. Luckily, instead of using tons of hair products, you can achieve this hairstyle by using a simple claw clip. Gather all strands of hair at the top of the head, and secure it with a hair elastic. Then, place the claw clip on top of the elastic behind the ponytail.

You can then use a smaller elastic to tie the front end of the ponytail and secure it. After clipping both ends, you can readjust and pull your hair on both sides for more volume.

Instead of going for the same old French twist, switch your hair game up a bit. For example, readjust to a ponytail or bun or add side braids for a much more sophisticated look. The best of all is that these styles are business appropriate and can also be a go-to for birthday parties and girl’s night outs. Which one will you try? Let us know in the comments below!
