8 Unique & Easy Hairstyles You Should Try Out

Looking to try out a new hairstyle for your next hang-out or date? If you’re out of ideas, you’ve come to the right place! These eight unique hairstyles are easy to do, require little to no extra material – other than bobby pins and hair ties – and offer fun, flirty looks:

1. High Ponytail with Side Fringes

This is one of my go-to hairstyles. When I’m bored, I often wear this for work or a get-together. First, brush and section your hair. Then, take two small sections from the two sides of your hair and leave them out of the ponytail. For the rest of the hair, tie it all up into a high pony. It’s definitely a cutesy look that requires minimal effort.

2. Half-Up, Half-Down Pigtails

If you want to spice things up a bit, try this half-up, half-down hairstyle. To start, brush and section your hair in the middle. Then, section the top and bottom sections, making sure the top section comes before the crown of your head. After that, take some of the hair on the bottom left and right sections of your head and tie them up separately. Add some colorful elastic bands for brownie points.

3. Messy Side Braid

Unleash your inner Elsa vibes with this messy side braid! All you need to do is grab a chunk of your hair, tie it up using your favorite braid style (dutch, french, or fishtail), and finish it off with an elastic band. It doesn’t have to look perfect, but it practically suits everyone.

4. Ponytail Braid

Forget the french braids: the ponytail braid is making an entrance. Pull your hair into a sleek ponytail, braid it up tightly, and finish it off with another elastic band. It’s the perfect hairstyle for a Friday day shift followed by a night out.

5. Baby Braids

This is one of the cutest hairstyles I’ve ever seen. It’s also easy to do. Just section the front two sides of your hair into small strands and braid them. Tie them with an elastic and run out the door looking like a 10.

6. Twisted Half-Up and Half-Down

Although this hairstyle looks complicated, it’s pretty easy, as well as a great option if you’re having a bad hair day. Section off two strands of hair on each side of your head (near your ears), and twist each section until they meet in the middle. Then, tie each section with a hair tie. Now you look like a queen.

7. Curly Pigtails

If you don’t have natural curls in your hair or a curling iron, put your hair in braids and sleep in them overnight. Then, section your hair into two low pigtails. They don’t have to be super sleek: the messy ones are usually more adorable.

8. Side Part with Clip

Feeling adventurous? Change the partition of your hair from the middle to the side. Then, section one of the strands off with three colorful clips. It’s a seemingly minimal change, but it can do wonders.

If you’re rushing out the door, feel free to add some oomph to your hair by trying one of these less-than-a-minute hairstyles. They’re all unique, and by the time you know it, you’ll be getting compliments from everywhere. After all, some creativity and a hair tie lead to countless options for hairstyles.
