7 Cheap & Simple Ways To Treat Yourself

When was the last time you treated yourself? We often associate pampering with spending a lot of money and being unproductive. But it is the complete opposite — self-care is productive. Treating yourself after dealing with stressful workloads or schoolwork aids your mental health.  It’s also one of the best ways to handle your workplace burnout.

You never have to feel guilty about doing something that makes you happy. So, make it a habit to reward yourself. It doesn’t have to be grand. You can always treat yourself without spending so much. Here are the seven surefire cheap ways to treat yourself!

1. Get some quality sleep.

It’s an understatement that sleeping is one of the best ways to treat yourself. In fact, it should be our priority. But due to work and school demands, sleep becomes a luxury. So, after a long day, make sure to get in some good sleep that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

2. Have a meal outside.

Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, reward yourself by eating outside! Treat yourself to your favorite dish or try a new one. If you don’t like eating alone, you can hit two birds with one stone by eating outside with some friends. You can use that time to hang out and bond with your family and friends!

3. Listen to your favorite songs.

Nothing beats a day of listening to good music. Music helps relieve stress and elevates your mood. So, recharge yourself and boost your mood with your favorite songs whenever you can.

4. Get dressed up.

Geraldine Wharry once said, “Dressing up is a way of reclaiming happiness regardless of outside factors.” So, why not pamper yourself by dressing up! You don’t have to shop for new clothes; you just have to mix and match. Getting dressed up in fancy clothes will make you feel recharged and empowered.

5. Take a long walk.

Treating yourself doesn’t have to be expensive.  A simple walk at your favorite park or even your house is a great way to pamper yourself. You can walk your pets with you and take pictures along the way as well.

6. Watch a good movie.

Reward yourself with a good movie. Watch it solo or with your family and friends. It’s also a good idea to visit a theater to enjoy a movie. But even if you don’t feel like going out, you can recreate the cinematic experience yourself at home.

7. Buy yourself a gift.

As Nathaniel Emmanuel said, “Life is too short to deprive yourself of things.” So, buy yourself a gift, which will also help you conquer your gift guilt. After all, self-gifting helps boost your emotional well-being and make you feel better. So, whether it’s something big or small, what matters is that you give yourself something that makes you happy.

We all need to remember to treat ourselves once in a while. Break free from workloads at school stuff, and be kind to yourself. As Aaron Bell once said, “When you treat yourself special, you bring out the best in yourself.”
