“Bell Let’s Talk” Is Celebrating 13 Years, So Let’s Talk About It

Let’s get rid of the stigma surrounding mental illness. Easier said than done, right? Of course it is.

The negative stigmas about mental illness have been around since the dawn of time. You can’t let everyone know you have depression. I mean no one wants to hang around someone who is depressed right? You surely don’t want to tell anyone you are suicidal, because I mean, who would understand? Who would believe you?

You know the truth. You know that people are more than their mental illness. You know the stigmas are what stop people from getting the help that they need. So let’s take a stand against those stigmas.

Bell Let’s Talk Day” is January 25th.

This is the 13th annual “Bell Let’s Talk Day.” If we do not talk about the stigma, we will never normalize how common mental illness is. This day is the day that your voice needs to be heard on social media. Bell Let’s Talk aims to bring an end to the silence and stigma surrounding mental illness, raise awareness, and raise funds for mental health initiatives. They do this through social media by encouraging everyone to speak out.

Bell Let’s Talk is working to help give people the tools they need to battle mental illness, raise awareness, and fund research to create better care for those suffering. Using the hashtag isn’t just about raising awareness. It also sends a message to your family and friends that you care. It’s a chance to let people know that you are sick of the stigmas like we are.

Use the hashtag #BellLetsTalk on January 25th and let’s work together on getting rid of the stigma around mental health.
