15 Wholesome YouTube Channels To Watch If You’re Having A Bad Day

Sometimes we all need an escape from the struggles of daily life. Wholesome channels on YouTube can be a way to do that.

Here are 15 YouTube channels to watch when you need a pick-me-up.

1. Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

In my opinion, Jessica is the queen of disability and LGBTQ+ YouTube. Though she doesn’t shy away from talking about her struggles, she is such a positive light.

You can find her making LGBTQ+ history videos, motherhood videos with her wife, disability content, vintage fashion videos, and much more.

2. The Icing Artist

Laurie, the Icing Artist, is a cake decorator who also makes wildly entertaining cake-themed content. You’ll find her doing videos like comparing 1-star and 5-star bakeries and making wedding cakes out of grocery store birthday cakes.

3. Cinema Therapy

On Cinema Therapy, a filmmaker and a therapist team up to watch movies together and comment on their mental health aspects. This series can sometimes get heavy depending on what movie they’re covering, but they almost always make me feel hopeful for humanity.

Also, hosts Alan and Jonathan’s comedic timing is ON POINT.

4. Answer In Progress

Sabrina, Melissa, and Taha are the trio behind this educational YouTube channel. They delve into topics you’d never think to investigate and put them to the test in some truly ridiculous experiments. Even if they fail, the videos are always entertaining and leave you with a (mostly) wholesome message.

5. Rachel Maksy

Rachel makes some insanely cool vintage-inspired clothing. Even if her clothes-making skills weren’t impressive, her funny personality would keep me coming back to her channel.

6. Special Books by Special Kids

In his videos, Chris, the channel’s host, meets kids with rare medical disorders. The channel shines a light on how even when living with circumstances that most others don’t, kids are still kids!

7. 1MILLION Dance Studio

If you’re not careful, you’ll be sucked into a rabbit hole of dance videos for hours once you discover this South Korean dance studio’s channel! But sometimes, that’s what the soul needs.

It’s also so wholesome to hear the other people in the background cheer the dancers on.

8. Thomas Sanders

I swear this man is sunshine personified. A highlight of his channel is an “Inside Out”-esque series called Sanders Sides. In it, the different sides of his personality discuss whatever issue Thomas is currently facing.

He also has another channel with his friends that always puts a smile on my face.

9. JunsKitchen

If you love cooking videos and cats, this is the channel for you. Whether Jun is taking his cats out for a bike ride or making a Japanese dish (or both!), it is always a soothing journey.

10. JonasAlmostFamous

Jona is by far the most underrated YouTuber on this list. She mostly discusses Disney and musicals, and her joy when she’s talking about them is infectious!

She recently started a series on her channel called DCOMmentary, in which she talks about nostalgic Disney Channel movies and shows. It’s so cool to hear some behind-the-scenes things I never knew about my favorite childhood entertainment!

11. Mama Doctor Jones

This OB-GYN YouTuber is wholesome, informative, and sex-positive! Dr. Danielle Jones makes some super informative videos about the reproductive system and babies while also having fun with it.

One of my favorite parts of her channel is her once-a-month reaction video to the TLC show “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.”

12. BananaJamana

If you’re in need of some relaxing art videos, this channel is for you. Jamie Jo’s art style is so beautiful and adorable. Her soft voice is also very calming to listen to.

13. Good Mythical Morning

Rhett and Link recently celebrated ten years of their morning show. Good Mythical Morning is the perfect show to throw on as you do your morning routine. It might not guarantee your day will be good, but at least it will be off to a good start!

The GMM kitchen’s spinoff channel Mythical Kitchen is also an amazing source of wholesome food content.

14. Safiya Nygaard

Safiya has made her name on YouTube by delving into things most people would never try, such as following crazy soap art tutorials or buying sketchy products from Wish.com.

Her videos are always super entertaining and sometimes answer questions you never thought you’d have an answer to (like what color you’d get if you mixed every lipstick from Sephora together).

15. The Try Guys

The Try Guys have a wide array of fun content to make you temporarily forget about your troubles. Whether it’s watching them try tap dancing, face off against a chess master, or eat everything from the Chili’s menu, you know you’re in for a good time.

My personal favorite series of theirs is Without a Recipe, in which they have to make food from scratch (you guessed it) without a recipe. When new seasons of the show come out, it’s a huge event for fans!
