4 Fall Movies To Get You Ready For Spooky Season

Fall has come and it’s time (at least anywhere but the South) for the cooler weather to roll in and change up the scene. With cooler air comes sweater weather, trips to Starbucks (if you weren’t doing that already), and cozy fall movies!

Here are four movies to get you all into the fall season!

1. Hocus Pocus

My wife would disown me if I didn’t have this on the list (and I want pizza for dinner later). So to cover my butt and ensure that I eat well, here is Hocus Pocus

I won’t lie, this is a charming little movie. If you’re one of the tens of people, like myself, who haven’t seen the movie all the way through, the story follows a group of kids who wake up three witches who terrorize their town on Halloween.

It has lots of humor and some heartfelt moments that might make you tear up a few times. It’s the perfect feel-good Halloween movie to watch with family or friends this season!

2. Any of the Scooby-Doo movies

Who else remembers watching the cartoon specials every year? Of course, this covers the live-action movies too, but the cartoons hit a little closer to home.

This is an easy-going watch you can keep on in the background. Relive the glory days of when we gorged ourselves with Halloween candy then laid in bed because it made us sick.

Follow our favorite group of mystery-solvers and their talking dog as they figure out what is real and what isn’t. Looking for a film? I’d go with either Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase or the Alien Invaders. They’re great stories!

3. Halloween

Looking for an older film that will send shivers down your spine? Halloween will do the trick.

This movie was filmed in a different time, so many things will stand out about the town the movie is set in. For example, something that stood out to me was how nobody locked their doors and allowed Michael Myers to just wander as he saw fit!

The movie has one specific kill that stands out to me because… well I’ll let you experience it for yourself. This movie is best watched with some friends you can jump on when you get scared.

4. Dead Poets Society

Completely different tonally from the rest of the movies on this list, Dead Poets Society is about a group of boys who establish their love for life and literature. Personally, I believe this is one of Robin Williams’ best films.

This is the perfect fall film for bookworms or those who just love good, heartfelt stories. I watched this film in my freshman year of college and it made me think a lot  about what really mattered in life.

Even though this movie has a lot of poetry, everyone who watches it can get something meaningful out of it.
