4 Different Types Of Therapy To Try If You Need To De-Stress

Feeling a bit more stressed than normal? Is that pedicure you scheduled for yourself just not “hitting the spot?” There are so many forms of “self-care” out there these days. Here are just a few unique therapy methods to help de-stress and reset yourself.

1.Reflexology

This is a technique similar to massage, but with a more direct point. During the session, different amounts of pressure are applied to pressure points in your extremities which helps relieve tension in other parts of the body. The idea is that everything is connected centrally and simply focusing on the outer parts can reconnect your inner self.

2. Cupping

This is a method that many athletes are familiar with. There are different methods to cupping, and I was recently introduced to it by my massage therapist. It works by using glass cups with suction that pull the stress and built-up toxins from your muscles, forcing your body to redistribute and relax.

3. Aromatherapy

With increasing popularity over the past few years, aromatherapy is the use of different scents to help reset your body and mind. Many people will buy scents just to keep in their house. If you’re looking to relieve stress, look for a simple scent like chamomile or lavender. If you’re in need of an energy boost, try peppermint instead. There are many different kinds of scents out there, and finding what works best for you is what matters!

4. Acupuncture

Using needles to localize the pain and stress in a specific body part will help with the faster healing of the muscles. This technique may not be for everyone; I myself am not a fan of needles. However, for those who want something different than a regular massage and have a specific spot that just needs to be focused on, this is for you!
