Why You Need To Stop Searching For Love And Let Love Find You

Valentine’s Day is coming, and this year, I’m single. The old me would feel super sad that I’m alone for Valentine’s Day, but this year, I’m staying positive.

For the longest time, I never liked being single. I feel like my loyalty is what pushed me to love being in committed relationships. I desperately searched for love to the point that I immediately settled for anyone who showed any interest in me. Even when I saw toxic partners’ red flags, I stayed because I didn’t want to lose them.

But this year I feel super excited about my new outlook.

Although I do still want a committed relationship someday, I know that being single isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. In fact, I enjoy single life. Instead of crying myself to sleep every night, I can sit down and focus on myself. I put my energy into school and other commitments instead of investing in the wrong people. I’m done giving someone else 100 percent of myself and only receiving 25 percent of them in return, so now I give myself 100 percent of my attention.

To be honest, right now, I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’ve learned my worth and figured out what I want to do with my life. I’m starting my career. And I finally love myself again and feel confident in who I am.

I made all of this possible because I stopped looking for love.

I stopped looking for love because I know that one day, I’ll find the type of love that I deserve. That love will come to me because I know that I am worthy of it.  And until that day comes, I’ll just continue to focus on myself..

I will continue to treat myself better. I will continue to love life. And I will continue to make a name for myself because mediocre partners can no longer hold me back from my full potential.

If you’re reading this, I hope that you’ll also stop searching for love. Stop trying to fill yourself up with other people’s company just because you feel lonely. Grow. Make something of yourself. Chase your dreams. Love yourself.

Entering a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship is only going to hurt you. Everyone deserves happiness — including you. So stop searching for love because love will find you when the time is right. Just be patient and find your own happiness. I can tell you that the journey is worth your time.
