The ‘Parks and Recreation’ Cast Is Reuniting For A COVID-19 Charity Episode

In case you missed it, the famous NBC show Parks and Recreation is going to return for a single special episode featuring the original cast. It will air on NBC on Thursday, April 30th at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. The episode was made to raise money for Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund. It provides extra assistance to food banks nationwide during this tragic pandemic. With many people out of work and turning to food banks for their next meal, this is definitely a worthwhile cause.

This new episode of Parks and Rec – set in the present day – will focus on Leslie Knoope attempting to stay in touch with all her friends and colleagues while they are all social distancing.

What’s more, it has been confirmed that Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Nick Offerman, Rob Lowe, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Jim O’Heir, Retta, and guest stars from the Pawnee universe will all appear in the episode. Creator Mike Schur has also said that the cast was eager to help and quickly responded when he emailed them about the idea.

Fans of the show can donate to Feeding America through their website. The total matching donations will be $500,000 – with State Farm and Subaru of America each matching $150,000. What’s more, NBCUniversal and the writers, producers, and cast of Parks and Rec have all said to make donations.

Leslie Knope will surely be up to some quirky antics as she attempts to contact her friends. I can already picture her trying to navigate zoom meetings and sending detailed handwritten letters to Ann. Thanks to the cast and everyone working on this episode, we get one more peek into the world of Pawnee. Plus, we will get an opportunity to make a real difference for those struggling. So don’t forget to tune in and donate!
