7 Beauty Secrets That’ll Have You Truly Glowing On Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is your day. From that day, until eternity, it will be remembered by the name of the bride and the groom. But the adrenaline rush and the stress during the wedding is certainly not a cake-walk. The bride is responsible for so many things, so it can be hard to prioritize skincare as the big day looms closer.

Here are some top-notch tips to get glowing skin on your wedding day:

1. Prep with a weekly skin treatment routine

You’ll miss out on your desired glow if your pre-wedding skincare prep starts too late. Creating a plan will give you the wedding day skin you always dreamed of. Use some basic, natural home remedies for your skin weekly to ensure your skin is camera ready when the day arrives.

2. Take yourself out for facials

It’s your day, bride-to-be! It’s one of the most special days of your life, so you certainly deserve some self-love. Take yourself to the best salons and beauty parlors in the town and get professional facials. Just make sure your first facial isn’t on your wedding day — it’s best to get them well in advance. Facials can affect your skin in multiple ways (all positively) — your skin will be massaged, scalp cleansed, and even your blood circulation will be stimulated. In fact, if you want, you can also request extractions (a process to remove dirt from your pores).

3. Keep blotting papers handy

It’s inevitable to get a little shine on your wedding day.  Be sure to keep blotting papers handy, as these will keep your face shine-free. And on the days leading up to the wedding, plan an oil-free skin routine and follow it to the T. Start your day by cleansing with mild face wash, then skip the toner and instead use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer.

4. Eat healthy

This is so undervalued as a skincare tactic. Eating healthy is not only important for staying fit but also for nourished skin. Of course, every now and then you can have a cheat meal. But, hey, bride-to-be, buck up. Your big day is just around the corner. Irrespective of your skin type, it needs to stay hydrated. Drinking enough water is one thing, but eating healthy superfoods is equally important. Foods like watermelon, grapes, cucumber, and kale should be in your grocery list every week!

5. Try weekly baths with salt

Sounds weird? Well, here’s the thing: with time, our elbow and knee patches get rough because the skin gets dry in these areas. So, weekly baths with salts and sodium bicarbonate will help to break down dry patches and make the skin soft and add moisture. Long story short, you are going to glow like a diva on your wedding day if you use this tip!

6. Sweat it out regularly

This will improve the tone, texture, and clarity of your skin. How? Sweat flushes out all of the impurities that are embedded in the dermal layer of the skin, from pollutants to the dirt that gets deposited during our day to day lives. It even clears out old makeup and residue.

In fact, regular sweating has many other benefits. For instance, your sweat consists of antibiotics that combat dermal bacteria, reinforcing the cleansing process. Moreover, increased circulation pushes nutrient-rich blood to the surface of the skin which ultimately plumps up tiny wrinkles and deters future collagen breakdown.

7. Use SPF 30 on your lips

During windy or cold weather, our lips tend to get chapped, dry, or cracked. When it’s extra sunny, you can end up with sunburnt lips. So, protecting them by using moisturizing SPF 30 outdoors will be helpful as it prevents your lips from getting dry. Rather than repairing them in the future, it’s always better to prevent the damage from happening.

Marriage is a life-changing event when all eyes are on you and you are no less than a show-stopper. Follow the above skincare tips and make the stare worth it!

  1. Looks like a great list to me! One thing I would add given the times we live in is not to wait till the last week or two to start taking these steps. Facials and peels and other non-invasive procedures from a skin care clinic is another way to go, but it too can’t wait till the last minute.
