7 Starbucks Drinks That Are Holiday Movie Inspired

Holiday movie drinks

Now that it’s officially December, there are a lot of things to celebrate. One of them is Starbucks’ amazing holiday movie drink menu! And no, I’m not just talking about the Eggnog and Gingerbread Frappuccinos. A lot of Starbucks secret menus have been gaining recognition online for their creative new bevies and they are the perfect cup of cheer you needed.

Thanks to our friends at Totally The Bomb, you now have a new list of must-try holiday movie inspired themed drinks! (Note: You’ll need to bring the recipe to Starbucks if you want one of these since they are customer creations. Keep reading for all the details!)

The Santa Claus

Inspired by the classic Santa Clause starring Tim Allen, this is the perfect celebratory drink for the season. Order a vanilla bean creme Frappuccino with strawberry puree layered at the bottom and again in the middle of the vanilla bean creme frappe. Fill the rest with whipped cream and add red Christmas sprinkles. Basically, it tastes like strawberry cheesecake and is Scott Calvin approved.

The Grinch

This bright green Frappuccino inspired by everyone’s favorite grumpy guy, the Grinch. To order this custom drink, order a vanilla bean Frappuccino with matcha powder blended in. The matcha is important as its what creates the bright green color! Ask for whipped cream and ask for extra matcha powder on top. Finally, add two dried strawberries on top (they are usually used in their Strawberry Acai Refreshers), and they’ll come in the shape of a heart!

This chilly frapp will definitely warm your heart, despite the cold weather, and will help your heart grow three sizes larger this holiday season.

The Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

This is a cold, sweet blend of mocha and strawberries. To enjoy it you need to order a custom Mocha Frappuccino (creme or coffee-based). Next, add strawberries and chocolate, then ask for a layer of gooey strawberry puree over the blended mocha before they add whipped cream. Once you say “yes” to the whip, ask for a single dehydrated strawberry for the nose and voila!

The Buddy The Elf

To order this minty beverage, start by ordering a Matcha Green Tea Frappuccino, but ask them to use peppermint syrup instead of regular syrup. Say yes to add whipped cream but ask them to use the red and white Christmas sprinkles instead. This drink will have you yelling “son of a nutcracker!” with joy in no time!

The Christmas Vacation

This National Lampoon inspired drink specifically based off of crazy cousin Eddie’s outlandish outfit. Order a tall matcha green tea Frappuccino with one scoop of matcha powder and two pumps of peppermint syrup. Ask to have the cup lined with strawberry puree and ask for two pumps of mocha at the bottom. Top it with whipped cream and strawberry puree drizzle.

The Cindy Lou Who

Christmas’ cutest kid just had to get a festive drink inspired by her because it would be rude not to. Order a blended strawberry lemonade (this is not a coffee-based drink). Top with whipped cream (it does not come with it unless requested) and a dust of matcha powder with two dried strawberries to represent the bow in her hair.

Candy Cane Frappuccino

This isn’t specifically based off of a movie, but it is just a delicious drink to try and is festive AF. Ask for a venti vanilla bean frappuccino with two pumps of peppermint syrup with strawberry puree at the bottom and top (with a whip of course). This kid-friendly drink is on the nice list, but can be made naughty and adults only if you add a shot of espresso over the whipped cream.

Obviously you can’t ask for any of these Holiday movie drinks by name since they aren’t on the menu (and are secret recipes), but you can still tell your friends what they are by name! Please note that some of these may take a little longer to prepare so you may want to save it for when you have time or the location you’re at is dead. Regardless, these frapps are bound to help spread that cup of cheer in the moments you need it most!
