Why I Firmly Believe Miley’s Separation Is A Publicity Stunt

170526-N-EO381-052.NEW YORK (May 26, 2017) – Miley Cyrus performs on the Today Show in downtown Manhattan for Fleet Week New York (FWNY). FWNY, now in is 29th year, is the city’s time honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. It’s been pretty hard to ignore the ongoing media circus surrounding Miley’s separation with Liam Hemsworth. The Cyrus-Hemsworth drama has gone on for weeks now, and it’s all people seem to care about. I hate that the former couple went through something extremely personal on such a public platform. However, I really don’t feel sorry for Miley anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully support Miley. Furthermore, I believe that the media painted her as the villain throughout this entire mess.

But, honestly? Miley did most of the damage herself.

For starters, who publicly announces their breakup, then kisses someone else on a yacht just hours later? Also, isn’t it fishy that Kaitlynn Carter and Brody Jenner split up the same week as Miley and Liam? Especially when the two girls were spotted kissing shortly after? The ladies must have both recovered quickly from their breakups, considering that we keep seeing them together. This situation all feels a lot like the first time Liam and Miley split up, when Miley ran around half-naked, twerking on men on national television.

I don’t blame Liam for refusing to tolerate Miley’s wildcard behavior any longer.

It breaks my heart that Miley is living her best life while her ex-husband remains quiet. Liam looks devastated in every picture, but Miley doesn’t seem to care that she’s publicly hurting him. If Miley really “loves” him like she says she does, she’d respect Liam’s privacy during this difficult time and stop drawing attention to their situation.

In the breakup announcement, the couple clarified that they want to focus on their careers. However, I think that Miley is using this breakup to benefit her own status in all the wrong ways. Instead of showing us what a confident single woman looks like she’s acting like an attention whore.

As if Miley’s attention-seeking behavior wasn’t enough, the star took things one step further, releasing a new song within days of announcing the split. She obviously planned her release date as a way to milk the cash cow, but when it backfired, she expressed her dismay all over Instagram. Then, after blatantly stating that she would “never return to the VMAs” after her 2013 Robin Thicke incident, Miley made a last-minute performance announcement. Newly single with a new song and new tattoo about a breakup for the world to see, Miley took the stage at the VMA awards

I hope the world starts catching on to Miley’s publicity stunts because frankly, I’m over them.

Obviously I don’t know Miley and Liam personally, but I see them as total opposites who wanted to meet each other’s needs but never could. Miley seems like a party girl who can’t be tamed, while Liam is more of a laid-back family man who enjoys his one- on- one time. The couple grew apart, and that’s totally normal you started dating at a young age, like they did.

Hopefully Miley and Liam don’t reconcile and can move on to live their best lives. But until then, you won’t find me expressing any sympathy for Miley’s attention-seeking antics.
