How I Successfully Balanced Studying & A Full-Time Job In College

Balancing working full-time and being a student can be extremely difficult. The deadlines, exams, study sessions, late-night shifts and early mornings can be overwhelming. Juggling responsibilities and limiting your social life can be daunting, but necessary sacrifices.

I personally struggled with multitasking during college, especially with a full-time job.

In the end though, I learned the valuable lesson of time management. One time management strategy I learned was using a planner. It was very helpful to be able to keep track of my hectic schedule. Another thing I had to do was cut back on watching my favorite TV shows. Over time it became easier, but the toughest thing for me was not being able to go out with my friends as much I wanted to.

It can be intimidating to deal with stress that comes with the struggle of having no other option but to spread yourself thin and tackle so many challenges. However, through all the difficulties, perseverance is essential, so continue to fight for what you want. Sure, you can put tasks off and let them slide for a while, but sooner or later you must stay on top of things to find success.

In the end, I graduated from college debt-free, which made every sacrifice of time management worth it.

Now, not everyone can graduate debt-free. It’s okay to take out a loan or two, and it’s okay to choose one thing over another if you know that you won’t be able to keep up with both sufficiently. Many people must hold a job while completing their university degree. I worked full-time as a server at a brewery while taking as many classes as I could.

Balancing working full-time and school requires knowing what you can handle and how far you can push yourself to succeed. I tip my hat to anyone who’s working their butt off to maintain the lifestyle that they want.

Immense gratitude can come from the memories of working endless evening shifts on top of spending mornings in class and afternoons in the library. The back-to-back sleepless nights were difficult. But, it was rewarding after I saw how much I gained from those experiences. Now, I truly realize what I was able to endure during crunch time. In the moment, it might not seem worth it, but reflecting on how much you’ve done can make a difference.

After all is said and done, I am thankful for the opportunity I had to grow and see how much I could handle all at once. I now see what drive and encouragement can help me accomplish. When I look back on the nights I barely slept, I know it was for all the right reasons. I’ve grown and learned a lot about my abilities through my challenging experiences during college.

  1. Students who work and study seem to enjoy the best of everything. They get their education and at the same time are able to keep their jobs and get a pay check. However, it isn’t as easy as it sounds and studying at the same time as working is probably one of the hardest things you’ll ever do in life. Here are some tips to help you.

  2. I am happy you have balanced it in this way. I know it is not an easy task to study and work both at the same time. However, it seems like an easy task, but it is too difficult because I have also experienced such things even I found some best assignment services to which I handed over all my assignments. Besides it, I was unable to do both things and had to skip the job.
