6 Hair Trends That’ll Help Keep You Cool In The Heat

Staying on trend is a little difficult lately because there are so many things to consider. Yes, beach waves are still a huge trend, as is balayage and bright hair colors. But what about the hairstyles for when the weather gets nice and the heat starts becoming unbearable (not to mention the intense humidity that will ruin our perfect look)? Don’t worry, I have 6 hairstyles that will totally remain on trend from spring all the way to the end of summer that also won’t go out of style.

Half Up, Half Down Do’s

Life is so much more fun when you can keep your hair out of your face so you don’t constantly have to adjust it. But the sad reality of it is that having your hair always completely up can damage your hair. The best part about a half up, half down look is that there are so many ways to style your hair, such as a half up high pony or a top knot.

Loose Braids

There are many ways to braid your hair and to style it. But this year the loose braid is totally in. It’s an effortless look that we all know is sometimes the most frustrating hairstyle to nail, but it allows you to be as creative as you want. Plus you’ll always get super flattering compliments from strangers if it’s a unique braid we don’t often see.

Temporary Pastel Colors

I don’t know why this trend from our childhood is making a come back but I’m not complaining. Subtle pastel looks in our hair are a total must this season to match the beautiful color of the cherry blossom trees or the color of the ocean water. I would recommend the chalky based L’Oreal Paris Hair Color Colorista 1-Day Spray from Amazon. That way you can enjoy it for a day or two, and wash it out instantly with no sign of the color remaining.

Side French Braid

French braids itself may be hard to accomplish, but this year the added fun will be creating it on the side of your head. This 90s inspired with a modern day twist look will totally be all over festival and beach season. Plus it’ll help keep your hair out of your face and off the back of your neck when it gets sticky and sweaty.

Twisted Bun Pigtails

Much like the twisted buns on the top of the head (or as I like to call them, ‘Alien Buns’) were in style last spring and summer, this year they’re back but at a lower spot on the head. Again, it’s super easy to accomplish, on trend and most importantly will keep you cool during the extremely hot days.

Playful Ponys

There’s nothing more that I love than a fun looking ponytail mainly because it’s so easy to accomplish and there are so many ways to make them creative. Whether it’s adding volume to the pony by shoving bobby pins in the hair tie, or making waterfall ponytails to add extra length. All of these styles will keep you cool all through the summer.

Let’s face it, those loose beach waves will only get us so far until we can’t stand having it down any longer and get frustrated by the damage the wind and sun cause. Plus there’s nothing wrong with experimenting with updos. We should be implementing them more into our weekly hair routine instead of sticking with a messy bun or loose pony.
