Why Evan Peters Won’t Be Returning For The 9th Season Of AHS

People finally confirmed the rumors: fan favorite Evan Peters will not return for Season Nine of American Horror Story.

People Magazine confirmed that the longtime cast member of the long-running Ryan Murphy show will “sit out” for a season. The actor confirmed he simply needed a break.

In a statement to the publication, Peters said, “I think it was a full-on burn out. I’m going to take a break, regroup, decompress, get back in touch with what I feel like I want to do. Not that I didn’t want to do any of those roles- they’re exactly what I wanted to do. It was just zero to 100 instantaneously.”

This news also comes a week after the announcement of the end of his engagement to his fellow AHS co-star Emma Roberts.

In an interview, Peters shared his goofy, laid back personality, so we all understand that the acting required for AHS takes a toll on him. He’s also a musician and says that he wants to put some focus into that, and that could open a whole new world for Peters.

Peters has starred in every single season of American Horror Story, and has been a blessing to us all with his brilliant acting, and his appearance (we can all appreciate how he looked, there’s no denying that) and his intellectual brilliance. He’s just a brilliant actor and man.

We’ve all felt drawn into his different characters. We’ve all managed to fall in love with even his most malicious, evil characters. To say he was everyone’s crush of the show is an understatement.

Starting with Tate Langdon, the true love of Violet, we fell in love with his love for her. He may have done some beyond twisted things in season 1 but it was hard not to have some kind of empathy for the character.

He’s been a staple in each season, and it’s difficult to think of American Horror Story without thinking of Evan Peterson.

With season 9 on the horizon, it’s heartbreaking to say that Evan Peters will not be a part of the season.

While fans worried over his departure about his return, Peters tried to ease our pain with confirmations that he will eventually return.

He’s one of three cast members that’s been in every season, and it’s been quite a shock for the fans. While we’re all a little surprised, contracts for American Horror Story go through Season 10. So, there is hope to see him for the speculated final season.

While we have to say that we’re absolutely going to miss him in season 9 of American Horror Story, at least we have a new plot line to look forward to. In the meantime, we have no choice but to honor his break and keep watch for new acting endeavors.

Needless to say, we’ll miss him and the amazing array of characters that he’s brought us through the seasons.
