Just So You Know, It’s OK To Feel Broken Sometimes

At times, life is hard for all of us. We all experience ups and downs, excruciating pain in our hearts, fears, chaos, and rejection.

As human beings, we are not always OK. There are times when we struggle, when our lives are full of chaos and disappointment. There are times when we think we’re not loveable, that nobody cares for us and no one understands us. There are times when, we feel broken, hopeless, and dejected, and there are times when we feel empty. Sometimes, we fall hard and there’s no way to avoid breaking. After all, there’s no mathematical equation to prevent our hearts from breaking.

And yet, despite all our struggles, remember that it’s OK not to be OK.

Our challenges aren’t signs of weakness. We’re allowed to struggle, and we don’t always have to fit into a certain image of perfection. At the end of the day, life is not about being perfect. Instead, it’s about how we grow.

I know you’re hurt. I know you’re empty.I know you feel like your heart has broken into a million tiny shards. But…

It’s OK to shed tears.

They will relieve you, comfort you, and ease the heaviness deep in your heart. When you release that high-pitched cry of wrenching loneliness and grief, you feel better. Just like the deluge of tears from heaven, your tears are a reminder that even the beautiful sky is allowed to cry. Feel the ugly sobs stirring and churning around inside you, threatening to lurch out uncontrollably. It’s all OK, so cry a little, then cry some more, Darling.

It’s OK to allow yourself to break down.

It’s okay to shut your bathroom door and scream like the roar of thunder rumbling through the sky. Release the pain and sadness bottled up inside you. It will eventually bring the bright sun back to you.

It’s OK to allow yourself to connect with your emotions.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling everything deeply. It is very much OK to feel lonely, furious, jealous, or happy. Weep when life feels infuriatingly vague because tears will always ease your broken heart’s pain. Always remember that you cannot run from pain forever. So stop escaping and start feeling the heartbreak. It’s OK to feel, simply because you are human.

It’s OK to allow yourself to let go.

Carry those wonderful memories, and let them mold a genuine, happy future. No matter what lies ahead of you in life, always open your heart and follow where it leads you. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward.

Heartbreak feels like it’s the end of the world. It can be devastating, and it hurts like hell. Yes, feeling broken is always difficult, but remind yourself that your brokenness has given you a wonderful gift – an amazing life to live.

It’s OK to feel broken, so show the world the full spectrum of your emotions.
