5 Ways To Be A Complete Boss At Karaoke Night

One night, you’re at a bar with a DJ. The DJ comes in and says that it’s Karaoke Night. You’re a good singer, but you have stage fright. However, as you watch the singers entertain the crowd, you want to join in on the fun. Here are five ways you can succeed on Karaoke Night.

  1.    Pretend there’s a different audience (or none at all!)

I know most people can be nervous singing in front of people. However, pretending you’re singing for a different audience is one way you can avoid being nervous. If you’re not usually nervous singing in the shower, pretend you’re singing in the shower. There’s no audience in the shower. Also, if you’re good at singing at home either by yourself or with your family, pretend you’re only singing in front of them.  If you’re not nervous to sing in front of your friends, pretend it’s just your friends in the audience and no strangers. Pretending you’re comfortable with your karaoke audience will help you sing in front of them.

  1.   Pick songs you’re good at singing.

Has anyone ever told you that you’re good at singing certain songs? If so, pick those songs to sing on Karaoke Night. If you can hit the notes on a particular song, sing that song, and you’ll be less nervous. If you’re not so good at a certain artist’s song, I don’t recommend picking that one. If you’re really good at one specific song, sing it.  Maybe, people will come up to you after your performance and tell you that “You killed it.”

  1.    Get to know the DJ first.

There are so many people who won’t do karaoke, despite their strong singing abilities. Maybe, you’d be more comfortable with trying karaoke if you get to know the DJ before Karaoke Night starts. If you’re comfortable with the DJ who’s hosting your karaoke, you’ll be less nervous being on that stage. The DJ will even give you recommendations of which songs to sing based on your singing ability. However, if you’re not comfortable with the DJ who’s hosting Karaoke Night, chances are, you won’t succeed at karaoke.

  1.    Pick a place you’re comfortable with.

You don’t want to do karaoke at a place you don’t like. You definitely don’t want to sing at a place where the people are too rough or aren’t friendly. You want to be comfortable when you sing karaoke. Some karaoke places are less wild than others, and those are great places to sing. If you want to sing karaoke, pick the place that best suits you

  1.    Just have fun.

Don’t worry about being the best singer of the night. Not everyone is going to be a professional-quality singer. Karaoke is about having fun. Just be confident, and you may even make friends at Karaoke Night! Y The more you have fun doing karaoke, the more frequently you’ll want to sing. You may even want to try it at other places besides the place you’ll do it most.

Everyone is wondering how to overcome fear of doing Karaoke. It’s a lot of fun for a night out, and you don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t do it. So, get out there and sing! Break a leg!
