7 Reasons I’m A Country Girl Trapped In A City Girl’s Body

Although I’ve spent most of my life growing up in a city by the name of Plantation, I’ve always considered myself to be a country girl. I’ve always been obsessed with country music, Tennessee, and North Carolina, but especially with wearing my cowgirl boots and blue jeans.

I haven’t always been into everything country, though.

In fact, it wasn’t until I was 13 years old that I found a love for country music. An online friend I no longer have contact with first introduced me to the country world.

The first country song I ever heard was “God Love Her” by Toby Keith, and I immediately had a brand-new liking for all the things country. I slowly transitioned from a girl who used to listen to Eminem 24/7 to a girl who listens to country music all the time.

My favorite modern country-pop music artist is Luke Bryan, but if I had to go back in time and choose my favorite country artist from the 1960’s, it would have to be Johnny Cash. My favorite song of his would have to be “It Ain’t Me, Babe” with Barbie Cash.

1. I love country music is that it tells a story without any swearing or disrespect towards women, like most rap music has done in recent years. One of the things that makes me a country girl is the fact that I could listen to country music 24/7 on a regular day.

2. If it were up to me, I would be wearing my cowgirl boots, blue jeans, and hat all day, every day. Wearing cowboy boots makes me feel sexier than wearing other types of shoes. Don’t ask me why (because I don’t know!), but wearing my boots feels incredible.

3. I have a temper like a southern country girl. Yes, I am a sweetheart, but once I’m upset with you, I’m upset with you, and I will defend myself. I am feisty, too, so don’t let my wheelchair or the fact that I’m wearing a cowboy hat fool you because I’m one tough chick!

4. I’m a huge fan of the Dukes of Hazzard and have a massive crush on John Schneider. I’m also a country girl because my dream is to go for a ride in the General Lee.

5. I have a little bit of a country accent, and people often assume that I am from somewhere down South.

6. I’ve always wanted to live in North Carolina or Tennessee, since I love the culture, and I love their music, and I love the people who live there.

7. Last but not least, I’m very much attracted to countrymen. They are the ones who were born and bred in the country, the ones who wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats and believe that the southern way to treat a lady is the best way.

Even though I was born in the Big Apple, the busiest city in the world, I am a country girl at heart. I think that what makes a country girl is that it’s always been something that has been in my heart.

The country is one of the things that I’m truly in love with.  I will love the country forever.
