5 Tiny Things You Need In Your Office To Kick-Ass

Whether you’re working in an office or are a student with limited space it’s very hard to keep yourself organized when you are dealing with a lack of space. And if you enjoy having a large area to work in, then it can make you feel suffocated. But don’t worry, there are a few key things you need to make yourself feel more organized and help make you succeed.

A Calendar

Whether it’s a tiny table-top pop-up or a huge whiteboard erasable that can be mounted on a wall, a calendar is detrimental for your success. By being able to physically look at the time ahead it’s easy to recognize deadlines, set check in’s and schedule things around the work you have to do.

A To-Do List Notepad

By being able to write things down you feel a lot more accomplished, and physically seeing that helps calm you down when you feel stressed. Another hack is to write down a few tasks you have already completed to help with your motivation. I recommend the one’s from Knock Knock because they’re cute and hella details to help with your organization. You can find them at Chapters/Indigo.

Sticky Notes

It’s very important to give yourself reminders whether it be how to complete a task or things you need to remember in general. Get multi-coloured sticky notes and assign each colour a theme. That way it’s easier to know which note to look at, and which one to remember when you’re away from your workspace.

Paper Tray

I know what you’re thinking, isn’t that for someone old? No. How I use mine is I put the things I need to do immediately on the top tray. Anything I can do on a less strict time frame goes in the middle and the bottom I either use for my completed documents or extra paper. They come in handy for organizing and prioritizing the importance of projects.

Highlighters/Colored Pens

Whether you need to edit a paper or check off a list, different colored writing utensils work beautifully. Assign each color a different purpose so when you look at your work you know what correction to make or what to look for on your computer. It makes the world of a difference!

As you can tell, organization is key and there’s no shame in being one of those people who are over organized because it means that you are on the right track. Plus everyone is different with how they choose to function so what works for one might not work for another. So try and personalize every space you can with the tools you need and you’ll be sure to get the outcome you hope to achieve.
